So I’m in my early 30s and am getting married this June. I’m not a perfectionist by any means and have not been overly stressed about the day or how I will look. In general I have been eating clean, avoiding drinking alcohol, exercising 2-3 times per week and getting adequate rest and hydration the past couple of months to prepare. Honestly this is the best I have been to my body with my diet and exercise routine.
However, I feel like in the past month or two I have developed skin texture changes on my face and many new wrinkles – on my forehead and especially underneath my eyes which looks terrible. I know some of this is expected with my age but I always took good care of my skin and avoided the sun in my 20s so it sort of took me by surprise. No amount of makeup can conceal my undereye fine lines and wrinkles and it all creases up mid day. I also have hereditary dark circles under my eyes so I am used up packing on a lot of concealers and color correctors to mask them. I have tried moisturizing undereye primers like smash is with some improvement but by the end of the day my makeup looks terrible regardless.
I haven’t loss a significant amount of weight, only 2-3 lbs (my goal was overall toning) which I know can contribute to subcutaneous fat loss in the face and wrinkles.
I have switched to a retinol moisturizing face cream (only 2 times a week as I know it’s overly drying and do not use it under my eyes) and under eye creams with hyaluronic acid which helps slightly but I’m still frustrated. I’m not planning to do anything invasive but have made an appointment with my dermatologist to discuss other treatments. I don’t want to go the botox (which typically is not used for dynamic wrinkles under the eyes anyway) or filler route especially given that the wedding is coming up quickly
Am I just blowing this out of proportion? Any other recommendations or treatments I should consider? Should I just relax and accept these small changes realizing no one notices except me?
