Im am having a brain block and just cant seem to write an email that sounds good. I am trying to email a few photographers whos work that I enjoy. Most of their websites do not list full prices (just a starting point). Essentially I’d like to know if 1) our date is available, 2) a better list of what their packages include, 3)well i guess thats it. Anyways after writing this i feel stupid that I cant write an email with those two bits…. but since Ive started this post I am going to post it anyways. Any advice?

Simple & sweet:
I was wondering if you could send me a list of your wedding photography packages and if you were available to shoot on _______ (date).

What about saying that you enjoyed their work on their website and you would be interested to learning more about the availability for July 3, 2011 and their pricing list.

I recently found your website and am interested in more information about your packages. I am getting married on July 3, 2011 at Y venue in Z. I look forward to hearing from you.
That way if they’re booked for that date they’ll tell you straight up and if not then they know that you’re interested. Short and sweet and to the point. I hope that helps! 🙂

Here’s what I wrote:
Hello My name is ____. My fiance and I are looking to see if you are available on our wedding date and what your prices are for a standard wedding package. We will be getting married on (insert date) at (insert venue). Please let me know if you need anymore information from me. Look forward to your response. Sincerely, me
Short and to the point. They will usually send you an attachment of their prices.

Actually I now see that @Mrs. Meowerson: had a much better response. HAHA I’m using that from now on…..

I wrote essentially what littlemissmoo and TinyTina: wrote, but added in something along the lines “I really enjoyed looking through your blog/archives and think your style would work well for our wedding.” Not sure why I felt like I had to compliment them, but I did.

Do you have a budget? I found it really useful to include my budget in the email, and ask if they could work within that.
