Just my personal opinion here…seems kinda long.

Personalized vows are great for you two, but in all honesty, I’m not sure how many in the “audience” want to sit through them.  What we are doing is writing our own and giving them to each other at some point during the day.  That way they can be personal and cheesy and mean the world to us, plus I’d be way to nervous to talk for that long in front of everyone!

But if this is something that you want to do, all the power to you! 🙂

I love personalized vows, but I agree that yours are a bit long. I would just drop the story about the homeless man. The sentiment is right, but a bit strange to be talking about homeless people in your vows.

You have beautiful sentiments in there but I thought it was on the long side too. It should probably be about half or less the length that it currently is (I think my listening time as a guest would clock in somewhere around 2 minutes).

But a compromise, if you like what you’ve written, is to excerpt your favorite parts, but still give him the written vows afterwards. I didn’t say everything to my Darling Husband at our ceremony just because I was uncomfortable saying such intimate and emotional things in front of people.

Agreed on the long bit… but wanted to take one min to say “awwwwww”! Your husband-to-be sounds like a pretty fantastic guy 🙂
