I wrote “We have reserved _____ seats in your honor” and I filled in the number. So far, no issues!

renwoman:   Is it too late to reorder the type of RSVP card which states ” X seat(s) have been reserved in your honor”  or something along those lines?

As much as it boggles the mind, there are still people who take the liberty of adding guests.

renwoman:  How are your invitations worded? Ours actually named the people invited on the invitation. There was no ambiguity and no one tried to bring an extra guest. (But then, we also invited every partner we knew about).

My understanding is the “X attending” line is for the guest to fill out. Otherwise how do they let you know that (e.g.) only 2 of a family of 4 can attend? That’s why, as PPs have said, some cards have two lines. One for you to fill out (“X seats reserved in your honor”), and one for them to fill out in reponse.

You can always write “____of X(number of people on the invite)” in the line next to guests attending? Our RSVP cards have “___ of ___ Will Attend” and “___ of ___ Will Not Attend” and I will be filling in the number on each card. A bit time consuming, but hey if it avoids uninvited people, it’s worth it.

I also did the ___ of ___ will be attending. I think it’ll work well. *fingers crossed* Invites went in the mail on Monday and Tuesday!
