My Fiance and I are writing our own vows, and I LOVE this so much. It’s so hard to say everything in a few short paragraphs…
Saying our vows – and hearing them for the first time on our wedding day! – is the thing I am most excited about, more than the honeymoon, more than any of the surprises we’ve planned for our guests. I just can’t wait to marry him.
Does anyone else feel the same way? Above all other DIY projects, there is nothing like homemade vows 🙂

I am so incredibly nervous that I am not going to be as eloquent as my fiance. He KILLS at the love notes. Mine tend to say ‘buy butter’.
Are you memorizing yours?

awww! that is so sweet! I just finoshed writing my vows today. We are also keeping them secret from eachother until the wedding. We went with the prompt of…. “I promise……” so that both sides felt even and it gave us a starting point for writing. Some of my promises are sweet and serious and a few are funny and loving. We are not planing on memorzing them… as I know I am going to well up with emotion and forget what to say.

I would like to memorize mine so I can look at him while I talk rather than looking down at the paper, but I may bring a cheat sheet 🙂
Aww @WillyNilly Where are you getting married in Seattle? I went to UW and just moved away from Seattle a couple years ago

I want to write my own vows too. Mine would be mainly funny, with of course, a few serious side notes. I told my Fiance that you must promise to never make me pump gas in the winter time again! ever! Its a thing for us, but I think writing your own vows makes the wedding more personal. Good Luck girls!
