My fiance and I are writing our own vows for our ceremony (10/12/12 – coming up quick!), and I’m in the process of editing/tweaking mine today. I just read through them, and it’s taking me approximately 1:30-1:40…is that too long? I’d say about 1/2 of my vows is an excerpt from a poem, and the other 12 is something that I wrote, if that matters 🙂
Thanks for the help!

I think that sounds fine. I didn’t time mine, but I’m fairly certain that they might have been a little shorter. However, I insisted that we give the priest the vows so that we could do it “repeat after me” style. I’m still glad that I made this choice because I cried a lot and probably would have had a hard time reading.
As long as you’re not up there giving a 10 minute diatribe, I think you’ll be fine. ; )

@kelly101212: IT sounds good! I don’t think it really matters how long it is.. (but please not over 5 minutes…I’ve been to one with it and after a few tears started getting real boring….)
You should say what’s on your mind and heart! 😀 I’m sure it’ll be beautiful

should be okay anything over 2 minutes may be to much but this should work out great
