We had a small engagement party last weekend in my hometown and my uncle told us at the time that he had bought a few things off the registry and we could pick them up at the store near us.
We went tonight to pick them up and he had bought way more stuff than I expected. He bought a punch bowl set, two pitchers, glasses, oven mitts and kitchen towels.
I’m getting ready to write the thank you cards and I know you’re supposed to mention the gift specifically. What about if there are multiple gifts that are mostly unrelated? Do I need to mention each one?

I think I would try to mention them all but maybe in two groups. Like:
The punch bowl set, pitchers, and glasses will be great for entertaining. And the oven mitts and kitchen towels will look great in the kitchen!

@smiles4jo: I didn’t even know that was a rule to say everything! I would have said something like, “Thank you so much for the engagement party gifts! Fiance and I are most excited to use the punch bowl set for future dinner parties!” Or something like that. I like what the PP said too.

I would try to mention them all. It helps him know that you received the gifts. You don’t have to go into great detail, just say something short and sweet.

I would say something about how your ready to entertain from cooking to sErving, etc…

@missnittany: this +1.
Think of a fun way to incorporate the gifts into how you are going to use them. What a great Uncle, btw!!! 🙂
