Sooooo…. I have the most generous Future Mother-In-Law on the planet and I am wondering how to write her thank you note.
I had a few people get me multiple things for my shower, but my Future Mother-In-Law got me like entire sets of things (like entire sets of dishes, etc.). How do I work her thank you card?? I’m seriously at a loss other than listing every single thing, which would require like 30 cards, or just writing you are insanely amazing… lol. I need help classin’ up the wording! 🙂
Also, the girl writing down my items noted how many of each thing people got me. If someone bought 3 sets of dishes for example, am I supposed to mention the quantity?? I wouldn’t think so but I don’t want to come off rude or ungrateful? HELP! 🙂

I don’t think it’s necissary to write down ‘thank you for the three sets of dishes’, but I’m also not huge on ettiquette. I’d just write, “Thank you for the dishes”. As far as your Future Mother-In-Law goes, I feel you! I had two different groups of people give me a couple different gifts via their kids. I’m not yet sure if I should make out cards for their kids, or just write everything on one card. In your case though I think it’s just appropriate to list the items on one card and give her a big thank you!

@auggiefrog: my Future Mother-In-Law even gave me gifts from my dog and my cat! lol. Like they were only addressed from them, but I knew it was her obvs. 😉

I would write what you would normally in the card. She’s your Future Mother-In-Law, you can say thank you by having her over for dinner (use your new dishes), ect. She will be a part of your life and you can thank her everyday, forever.

if it’s too many too list think along the lines of “Thank you so much for your thoughful and generous gift(s)” and just be general “they will be put in good use as I prepare my home(or something!) I’m no etiquette pro either but this or something like it covers the bases:)
