I was thinking about walking down the aisle to Yurima A River Flows In You as my Fiance and I think it’s a stunning piece of music. However I played it to my family the other day and while one of my auntie’s and my gran thought it was romantic and different to the “usual” my other auntie immediately said it sounded like a tune you would play at a funeral. What do you think?

Your poll options are screwed up… there are only negative choices.
I love that song, and think it is absolutely beautiful. I wouldn’t have a problem using it, and it was actually a final contender, but my FH thought it was too serious and dramatic. It definitely is a powerful and moving song. I can see how some people might think it is sad, but if you like it, I think you should use it anyway.

@EleanorRigby: 3 choices. You must have jumped in before I finished editing 🙂

the beginning may sound a little sad, but i totally love the rest, maybe the pianist can just play what you love most in the song. I am walking down the aisle to “when you say nothing at all” my brother is playing it on the guitar but hes just playing a piece of it, beacuse it wont take you 4 mintues to walk down the aisle you know

I’ll have to edit the song myself as we’re not having anyone playing the music. I was thinking about sending the bridesmaids down first and I would come in at the more uplifting middle piece.

I think it’s stunning 🙂 I wish I could put a piano outside so I could have someone play it 🙂

I think it’s gorgeous! And really, who cares what anyone else thinks? If you love it, have it!

That is very pretty! it sounds totally oposite from a funeral song!

I am not playing it as we walk down the aisle, because I am going a bit more traditioanl. But it is definitely on our playlist for our evening music. I think it is a gorgeous song. Perfect for what you want to do! I say go for it!! Remember, you can’t please everyone. But this is YOUR wedding and need to do what makes you happy 🙂

Right choice and I think it’s romantic

wow – love this piece! definitely will get a dramatic entrance with it!! I guess the only thing I would worry about is does the setting fit the drama, ya know? I can see this at a church/formal wedding, but def. not a beach wedding. And no, I do not think of funerals when I listen to this! I think the audience will be too busy staring at you than processesing the music, ya know?
