Why are you not getting it altered?

There is absolutely no way to know this without seeing the dress, what inserts, etc.

Usually though, no. If it’s a WHOLE cup difference it will look off.

You can give it a shot.  Buy one and/or possibly some separate silicone cutlets to properly fill it out and try it out.

Is there a reason the person who is removing the illusion neckline can’t also make the proper alterations removing the current sewn-in cups and replacing them with the right size so the bust fits properly?

I don’t think it will look bad with this dress. You see the “bubbled out ” part where they have the illusion pinned? That part is still going to be too big if they don’t cut down the bust, but completely up to you on whether or not you are comfortable with it .

I will tell you that sometimes they sew double padding into some of my brides dresses that help fill it out a little more, but that’s personal preference.

With this dress the only thing not getting it altered is going to do, is make you look like you have a bigger bust than you actually do, and I would also makes sure that they have it very fitted around your ribcage to help with support since the bigger bust line won’t be giving it as much.

Why did they sew in the wrong size cups? The dress looks hella big up top and those little stick-on push up bras don’t have much padding to them. They probably won’t fill the dress out the way you are imagining.

Hi! This doesn’t directly answer your cups question, but I hope it will be helpful to you in the fit of your dress. I love lingerie and clothes and I’ve done bra fitting. From your photos I can tell you’re probably larger than a C. Have you ever been fitted at a bra shop by a pro? (Not at VS. They put people in the wrong size all the time!)

Take a look at A Bra That Fits on Reddit. They have a guide to measuring at home that’s pretty accurate. Personally if I were in that fitting room, I’d want to hook you up with a properly fitted strapless plunge!

You don’t have silicone inserts shown above. They will fill the bra out more if you get the chicken cutlet thingies.
