I’m a long time lurker/first time poster. Here’s the situation, I’m 21, my boyfriend is 23 and I have a very strong suspicion he will be proposing when we are in Disney next week. We’ve been dating for just over two years and couldn’t be any more in love. I have two brothers, one is 25 and has been dating his girlfriend since they were 16. My twin brother has also been with his girlfriend since he was 16. Neither brother has shown any intent in moving towards marriage any time soon. What I am wondering/worrying about is whether it is wrong or rude to be the first to get engaged and married considering I’ve been a relationship for the shortest amount of time. Bees, any insight or words of wisdom are much desired!

Why would it be rude? You go with your own timeline, not someone else’s.

Live your life! It’s not your job to worry about when/if your brothers are planning to get married. You have to do what’s right for you.

Good news: that’s not how it works so you’re fine.

Uh no. You get engaged when it’s right for you. Your brothers will get engaged when it’s right for them. There’s no right order for family members to get engaged.

If and/or when your brothers want to get engaged they will. You do you.

if you and your boyfriend are ready, you’re ready. Congratulations!
If your brothers aren’t ready yet–that’s OK. Everyone has their own path to take.
