I don’t love it with those other colors but it’s pretty muted so I don’t feel like it really clashes either.  I think it could pick up on other greens like those in the flower arrangements, etc.

You inspiration board is def more of a green/blue – where as that dress is more of a green/brown.

Because it is pale, I think it could still work, however. Do you happen to have the other dresses so we can see them all together?

Personally I think you are stuck with that dress she picked out.  She already bought and is getting in altered. You should have picked out a certain shade of green. Unless you plan on paying for her new dress and alterations. I know if I was in her shoes I would be pissed because spent the money on a dress and it being altered then be told its the wrong color of green.

You may be okay once you get them all together.  Do you have photos of the other dresses?  I am doing something similar with my BMs and made a board with each of their dresses side by side to get a feel for what it will look like.  I think if you place this Bridesmaid or Best Man in between some of the Jade dresses, it will help her “blend” in better.

@ms. rice crispy treat: Then if you are willing to pay for a new one and it doesn’t go with the other dresses go for it. Personally that shade of green is not to my liking but I don’t think it is going to detract from your other greens.

You also need to take into consideration that you’re seeing a photo of a dress on a model.  The dress could be a completely different color or tone in person.  I’d wait it out.

Hi – I’m old, like WAY older than you. Trust me when I say this, the color of the dress is not going to be bad. There are things we can control and there are things that we can’t. The odd color is actually going to be really pretty b/c she’s going to be confident and it will add interest to the photos.

The matchy match days are long gone – even with a storyboard, your wedding isn’t going to be “perfectly color corrected” – a little uneveness will actually make the wedding more sophisticated. She doesn’t need to fit your storyboard to be in your wedding. I say this b/c I’ve been a bridesmaid many times and now I’m finally the bride. When it comes down to it – you want her there on your day and you want her to look good. It will work out, save your $100 and try to let it roll off your back.

I’ve attended a million weddings at this point in my life and no one cares that maids match or don’t – only the bride does. She is doing this because she loves and your friend so try to enjoy that part of it. This olive/yellow tone is going to make the other colors “pop” – check out martha stewart’s paint colors and you’ll see that it’s going to work. Hang in there! 🙂

Honestly that dress doesnt fit in with your inspiration board, but since you didnt tell her anything before she paid for alterations, and you didnt give them color swatches, I dont think you can tell her now that you dont like it.
