Why would you wait? You shouldn’t pursue someone in order to give them your business. Imagine how awful you’d feel if they continued this way after your deposit. Look for someone else.

Ughh that’s frustrating. When I was looking at photographers, almost half the ones I emailed never responded.. It sucks.

I agree. If you have been trying to contact them for a month without hearing anything from them, you really need to look elsewhere. Right off the get go, they don’t seem very detail oriented, if they can’t even return an email.

Move on since they don’t want your business. If they wanted your business at all, they would have responded promptly.

I would move on.  If they can’t answer inquiries in a timely way, I wouldn’t trust them with my money/business.

We had the same issue with photographers.  I loved loved loved this one woman, but she was such a flake answering emails and giving us prices that I thought if she can’t answer an email, how do I know she’ll be reliable to show up on time, get our pictures to us in a reasonable time, etc?!

We hired one of the other photographers who we both loved (though she was my second choice), and I have complete confidence in her.  She even recommended the person we booked to perform the ceremony!

Yes, definitely move on! I say this from my own experience with vendors. It took months for an etsy seller I was using for my bridesmaids’ jewellery to put up a custom listing for me. That should’ve been my clue not to give her my business, but I really, really wanted her jewellery. Anyway, her communication has been so poor and she’s so far past the deadline that I’ve now had to request a refund and scramble to find another jewellery vendor with just three weeks to go until my wedding. My experience is, if someone isn’t communicative BEFORE they have your money, they’re not going to be communicative after they’ve got it, either.

Hopefully you can find something just as great from a vendor that wants your business 🙂
