We’re paying $3000 for 110 people. That includes service, fees, china, silverware, tablecloths, cocktail tables, 2 meats, 4 veggies/salads, 2 starches, 2 passed apps, 1 stationary cheese/veggie.

we got a great deal! My planner and her catering company are good friends of mine!

Ours was about $225/person.  That included EVERYTHING.  Food, bar, tables, linens, chairs, bartenders, servers, cake, a ballroom and an outdoor terrace.  It was at a 5-star hotel in downtown Chicago, so I thought it was actually pretty reasonable.

@lolita39:  We’re getting married in Jamestown! We went with Visions catering who apparently have great reviews and are reasonably priced. I’m from the Triad originally, but live up in Canada now.

it all depends on where you live. big cities? bigger cost. wedding towns? bigger cost. smaller towns? smaller cost.

it also depends on what type of food, or whether it’s sit down or buffet style.

i believe we’ll be paying between $50 and $60 a person, for food and hors d’euvres only, no bar. we’ll figure the bar out when we decide whether we want one or not.

@Tarheelgurl:  Aw yay! We thought about doing the castle mcculloch up there, but it was too far a drive for some of our out of town guests!

I paid $3139 for 40 people. included  a meal of Hors d’oeuvres, rentals and non alcoholic drinks. (i was allowed to take my own alcohol and the bartender was included in the price).

it wasn’t 78 per person though, because the food was only 17 per guest, and the rest was spent on kitchen personnel, servers, bartenders, bar set up, rentals, etc.

The vendor we will probably go with will be $112 per person, just for food. No alcoholic drinks included. We have an $8,000 food and drink minimum too for 50-60 people. Plus the ceremony site fee. Fortunately for us linens, glassware, and tables are included in that so it really isn’t that bad.

@lolita39:  Yeah that’s where we are getting married at. We were gonna originally go to Castle Ladyhawke in Tuckaseegee. But all the caterers they had available were insanely expensive for what they were offering, and we would’ve had to pay for everything since nothing came with the venue. Not even chairs and tables.
