Personally, I think she’s OK, but no, I would not hire her myself. Wedding photos were something I splurged on because they were what I had left of my day, after it was over. I think the photog you linked to is on her way, but many of her photos in her portfolio are poorly lit, some are out of focus, her black and whites are too gray without enough true black and white for good contrast, and she does a lot of cliche shots/ poses (jumping wedding party, heart hands on baby belly, etc.). A lot of her photos don’t look like they are taken with a professional grade camera, or if they are, she uses the auto setting. I do, however, think she does a great job at catching some very special moments.

You’ll find one that’s great! Keep looking–she/ he is out there!

My main concern with her would be she overexposes almost all of her shots.

@cherryblossomlove: I would stick with your initial photographer, seems much better than the other person you are thinking of contracting with.  Another red flag to me is that their website says the package you mentioned is 1800 bucks, and they are willing to give it to you for half price?  I wonder if they have “no work” and are just taking whatever they can get.

The first one looked way better to me

@cherryblossomlove: I wouldn’t hire LA Wright for my own. I agree with PPs, your original photographer or Justine Johnson would both be much better.

I also prefer your original photographer….he has crisper images than some of the others you have posted. I agree with PP that some of the other options you are posting have tons of overexposuring, and what look like focusing problems to me.
