I’d get a cute wicker basket (if you have a Christmas Tree shop near you, they always have inexpensive ones) and just add a bunch of cute stuff.  A Sephora will have tons of cute, less expensive stuff.  Maybe the travel size bottle of the new LAMB perfume, some lip glosses, a candle, lotion, a new book.  I think it’ll be so fun to open and you can make it less than $50 for sure.

Some may think it’s impersonal, but I would give her a gift card to sephora or M.A.C. for the amount intended.  If she likes makeup, etc.  This way she can pick out exactly what she likes.

Did she use the money you gave her for her b-day at a spa?  If so, not sure about the home spa kit.  But if not, then I think it’s great.

If you go to TJ Maxx or Marshall’s to their body lotion, etc area, you can make her an amazing basket for $50!

There’s this thing you can get at Sephora (I’m doing this for FI’s brother) where you spend $50 and get something like 10 perfume samples and a voucher to redeem for one of them.  This is a great gift I think and it will let her pick what she wants and go get it for free!

@Soon2BeMrsM: It’s soooo easy and a little more personal than a gift card.

@Gerbera: Go to Sephora and click gifts and then for her and then value sets.  They’ve got a TON of makeup/spa sets on sale for a fraction of the price.

As for jewelry…Macy’s?  They always seem to have a lot on sale.

We’re getting Future Sister-In-Law a gift cert to Sephora for exactly the same reason mentioned above. Plus, she’s still in college & loves to shop for herself but doesn’t really have the $$ to do it.

You can definitely create an at home spa basket for less than $50. They’ve got tons of great smelling soaps, salts & moisturizers at Home Goods, or you can buy some inexpensive Epsom salts and add an essential oil like lavender or something. How about a really nice fluffy robe & slippers and a bottle of bubble bath?

Personally… I love gift cards. 🙂
