- Wedding: September 2012
I was just complaining to a friend that my Darling Husband never plans date nights or outings. I’m also the one to plan every aspect of our vacations. He just hasnt been interested in details until we’re on a plane. This usually means that once we’re on the trip, he’s not 100% on board with the game plan (timing, itinerary, etc) bc he didnt provide input or think through any details. Of course it was a given that I would plan 95% of the wedding. 🙂 I was getting tired of being in the driver’s seat!
So, we’re planning a trip to Portland in January and he purchased plane tickets. Fine. That’s usually the extent of his planning contribution. Then, without any prompting by me, he started booking hotel rooms with my input on his laptop while we’re sitting in bed together. Then I resumed doing some other stuff and an hour later he says to me, “Baby! I have our whole trip planned with room for spur of the moment stuff”. He’s found a cool distillery to visit, cool yummy restaurants (very important bc he’s vegan), bars, etc. I jumped on the bed and gave him a huge kiss and told him how much I loved that he did that. positive reinforcement. He looked proud. 🙂 I’m so excited!
Ha! he just said, “I’m getting good at this whole planning thing. The wedding taught me a lesson.” (He had no idea how much work and planning was involved with our wedding until all our family started to arrive)
Can anyone relate?
