Truthfully, I forgot my dress will be here in April-ish until I saw this thread.

It was an “Oh yeah” moment.

@lovelylight99:  I’m a terrible bride. I had very select things that I absolutely wanted (An extra bouquet & particular music selections & the food) but the rest… I’m really indifferent on. My MIL/FIL and my mother are planning the wedding. Anything they want goes. When I bought my dress, it was the last one I tried on and the one I liked the best. Everyone thought I was going to go bonkers, but in reality, I had this face:

😐

Maybe I’m just abnormal. πŸ˜›

@lovelylight99:  We had a theme, too! It isn’t really “showing up” in our wedding except for the general outfits of my husband & I and our wedding cake. We’re having a princess bride wedding, but we’re not going to replicate the movie, much to the dismay of my M/FIL. Mostly we wanted that theme because of the cake. We’re having custom toppers made to replicate Buttercup & Westley (Westley falling down a hill) and “As You Wish” written on the cake.

Aside from that, I went with the flow. for my dress, I went into the shop hellbent on a particular style. I bought a ballgown. Originally a style I would refuse to wear. Haha.

@lovelylight99:  It’s one of my husband’s favorite movies. πŸ˜‰

We’re being officiated (Although not really since we’re already married, this is just a formal wedding to celebrate with friends & family in June) by a friend of both of ours, my FIL’s coworker and a director I worked with when I was involved with the theatre. He’s a huge theatrical guy. We’re going to make him say the Mawage speel. I’ll giggle with glee!

We thought about engraving our bands, but I don’t have a wedding band so that’s kind of out. I think it’s cute.

My dress is a ballgown so not really buttercuppish. I wasn’t really looking for a buttercup style dress, I just wanted something I actually liked and felt good. My husband, however, will be dressed in all black to be my Dread Pirate Roberts. I might theme tables at the reception as places in the movie. Haven’t decided yet.
