I just posted something and didn’t see this one.

A friend of mine just got married at Hidden river a few weeks ago. She loved it with the river in the background.

We’re having ours in a summer camp in Swannanoa (in November)

Wheee!  I am so happy to see this board!  On the Knot, there were always tons of Triangle and OBX brides, but not many from Asheville!

Darling Husband and I have renewing our vows (long story) in June at Deerpark on the Biltmore Estate.

What vendors are everyone using?  Maybe we can swap stories!

  • Ceremony/Reception/Cake: Deerpark Restaurant
  • Flowers: The Bloom Room
  • Photography: Eric McCarty/The Light Photography
  • Invitations: A Fine Line
  • Hair/Make-up: Lola Salon
  • Ceremony Music: Don Pedi
  • Reception Music: The Camaros

Hi NC ladies!

I’m currently in Boston, but relocating, probably to Charleston, SC, next April. I’m thinking about either the mountains (Asheville) or beaches (OBX) of NC to get married.

Has anyone had a wedding or been to a wedding at the Grove Park Inn??

Nice to "meet" y’all! Talk again soon!

I haven’t been to a wedding at the GPI, but I visited it for my job.

They have a room that used to be a swimming pool (you wouldn’t guess it) that can easily be used for a reception. It has an adjoining terrace fro; which you can see both the main inn of the GPI to the right and the mountains to the left, I think it would be beautiful for a ceremony.

If you like historical places, you might also want to contact Biltmore Estate…

Hi everyone! I’m an Asheville bride too. We’re having our wedding at Claxton Farm in a few months, July 19th.  Still looking for a good salon for hair, but otherwise almost everything is arranged.

I’ll be a Biltmore bride next Spring.  I still need a florist.  Any recommendations?

Barnweddinggirl:  I really like the salon where I am getting my hair done – Lola Salon.  I already had a hair and make-up trial and it went really well.  What I like best?  They will be coming to me on my wedding day, so hopefully I will be less stressed.  By The Way: I LOVE Claxton Farm.  Unfortunately, I didn’t find it until I had already booked my venue, or I would have loved to have had our wedding there.

Suthernbride:  I cannot say enough wonderful things about my florist – Stacey Brown at The Bloom Room.  She is amazing.  My wedding is not for a few weeks, but I have complete confidence that is is going to be spectacular.  And she does tons of weddings at Biltmore.  Which venue are you using?  Who is your coordinator?

We just got married this last weekend at Lake Eden in Black Mountain.  Everything came out perfectly and I’d be glad to talk to anyone who’s looking for vendors/tips in the Asheville area.

Does anyone know of a good shuttle service to the wedding? (Asheville area)

Hello! Just got home from a visit to Asheville to meet with a photographer and see the champagne cellar at the Biltmore.

LOVED the photographer – http://www.ceaphotography.com

Also loved the cellar at the Biltmore. Very excited. Good to know about the hair salon. As we were driving around town I was wondering where I was going to get my hair done.

I haven’t had my consultation with the florist yet, but I’m considering http://www.blossomsatbiltmorepark.com/weddings.htm. I’ve talked to a rep there, and we have a phone consultation next week.

Has anyone found an officiate yet? Also, I’m looking for a way to transport my guest from the hotel to the Biltmore. Any ideas? Look forward to learning more!

For the officiant at the ceremony we are going to contact some friend of my aunt in law. They used to be Unity Church ministers and the wife still does weddings upon request.

What kinf of budget are your looking into for transportation and how far is your hotel from Biltmore?

My hotel is downtown – Four Points Sheraton.  So, 5 miles-ish?

It seems like any sort of shuttle rental has to stay for the entire duration of the event. So, we were thinking of leaving cab fare in the welcome basket tied to a note with the taxi information…this way it’s paid for and they don’t have to drive.

It’s not ideal, and I hope not tacky…but I don’t want drunk wedding goers in the town of Asheville!

I’m getting married at Sleepy Hollow Bed & Breakfast (http://www.ashevillebbinn.com) in Swannanoa and the peeps there have been wonderful! My pricing is all inclusive and below are a few of the vendors that I am using:

 Bakery – Sweet Promises; sweet-promises.com

Florist – Sophie’s Garden
