So today I went to the mall and was looking around Macy’s jewelry section to see if there was anything that would catch my eye as maid of honor & bridesmaids’ gifts. I always wanted to get the girls a set of pearl earrings and a matching necklace. A couple of months ago, I found one that I liked, but the metal of the clasp was sterling silver which was a no go as one of the BMs is allergic, and it was $300 (way more than what I wanted to spend). As I swung by the pearl case, lo and behold, they were having a Mother’s Day sale! I end up getting each of my girls a 54″ 7-8 mm freshwater pearl necklace with matching 7.5 mm pearl studs. Normally $450 a set, and I got it for $92 each after taxes. Best part, the metal detailing is 14k so my Maid/Matron of Honor can wear it without fear!
Here’s the set (above). I sort of hate the jewelry box so if anyone knows where I can score some nice ones, it would appreciated! Second pic is of me wearing one of the necklaces. The last pic is the BM’s dresses but it’s brown instead of black to give you guys an idea of the overall pic.
Thanks for letting me share Bees!

That’s awesome, congratulations! I think craft stores generally sell jewelry boxes, too!

@jo.lee: Thanks. I will definitely check out your suggestion. The store gave me these cardboard boxes, and before I even walked out the store, I ripped one of the corners. Ooops.

So pretty! I wish I could afford to do something like that for my girls. I’m a sucker for pearls.

Beautiful! I think this is a great gift that they will definitely wear again. I would check out JoAnn fabrics or Michaels for jewelry boxes.

That’s a great find! Your Bridesmaid or Best Man are going to look fantastic!

@SuperDuperBrit: thank you! I’m sure you’ll find something equally amazing for your girls. I thought I wouldn’t find one in my range, but I was wrong and gladly so. Just keep your eyes and options open, you never know what will come around.
@girlygirl885: =) I am checking out JoAnn’s and Michael’s this weekend. Hopefully I find something fairly cheap.
@pengoala: thanks! I was trying to go for the classic timeless look for the whole bridal party so 30 or 40 years down the road my kids will be less likely to make fun of me and my tastes. lol.
