- Wedding: July 2013
My dress journey has been long and frustrating. I have tried on over 121 different dresses in search of “the one”. Part of the frustration has been trying to find one dress to fit two entirely different themes. (We are having his& her weddings as his family won’t travel.) Then I saw Jeannine’s post and a lightbulb went off. Buy two different dresses for the price of one! Support a worthy cause in the process? Win! Win! So I talked Fiance into a trip to Lynchburg in lieu of a birthday present (which he still bought me). At this point I had already fallen in love with a designer who was way outside my price range. Add to that I am a plus sized bride. Would I ever find my dream dress?
We hit a ton of snags trying to plan a trip down there. It was rescheduled twice and the last possible day we could do it we hit another snag. I was so disappointed and frustrated. But Fiance came through as he always does and made it happen even though he would be starting his new job on just four hours sleep.
At this point I was worried that it would be a wasted trip. Maybe we weren’t supposed to go as we had so many difficulties even getting time to go. Would I have to just settle for getting married in jeans? Yes at this point I was overly dramatic! So I prayed the whole way down and asked God to help me find a dress that looked great on me at a price I could afford. I told the Lord it didn’t matter who made it. I just wanted to look good.
We arrive at CSB and head downstairs to look for a dress for my daughter (no luck). We head upstairs and I start pulling wedding dresses. I pull about five dresses and head back to try them on. They really were lovely but they didn’t really match my winter wonderland theme. I headed back to the rack and pulled a few more that I had past over because they weren’t impressive in the bag. I put the first one on and headed to the mirror. I stood there and bawled. I had on an Ian Stuart! My dream designer! Of all his dresses this one most matched my theme. What were the chances? God had exceedingly and abundantly blesses me above what I could ask or think!
So now I have a dress by my dream designer for an amazing price and got to support a worthy cause. And for all my worrying that I wouldn’t find a dress to fit this one is two sizes to big on meLOL. So I will post pics after alterations.
I just want to thanks Jeannine for introducing me to CSB and Michelle and her staff for all their hard work and kind hearts. They really are the nicest people you will ever meet!
If you have a dream that is out of reach you might try CSB.
CSB+prayer=fulfilled dreams for this bee. 😀
