I feel the same way!!! Everyone’s getting engaged and becoming pregnant. Just had a friend get engaged this past weekend….and a coworker say she was pregnant today! 🙁

Aww, and it’s the WORST at Christmastime! I remember when I was with my ex for over 6 years it got to the point that I would CRY every time I saw a post of a ring or engagement….especially if they were together for 1/2 the time we were. Now, I’m happy bc he definitely was NOT the one for me!

ETA: Just keep in mind that one day it will be you making that post and others will feel upset/inadequate/jealous/etc. My friend just told me the other day that my engagement made her feel really sad for awhile b/c she had just broken off her engagement 2 months before I got engaged. Meanwhile, I remember when she got engaged and I cried for about a week.

@kansas_nurse:  I am right there with you!!! Enough is enough already, thanks for making me feel like a loser every time I see someone else get engaged ugh!! If everyone could just stop until it’s our turn right? But I feel like there have been sooooo many engagements, that by the time it’s my turn, everyone will be done and my engagement won’t get lost in the shuffle! See, there is a reason we are still waiting…

I feel ya. When I was waiting on my proposal, EVERYONE was getting engaged. Or married. Or pregnant. Or starting a new relationship. I felt like my moment wasn’t going to be special in light of everyone else’s. Don’t worry about that, though. Seriously. Maybe take a break from social media for a bit. I know it can be really stressful and heartbreaking, especially if a couple is getting engaged who hasn’t been dating as long as you and your SO. It can be really tough.  Hang in there, girl. :/

I know how you feel. Half the people on my FB are engaged- but a lot of them are still in high school and they’re single a week later so it doesn’t bother me as much.

I understand this! Had one pop up at the weekend. I’m happy for them but it still makes you feel a bit crap.

Worst was last night though… I go to a pub quiz each week and a couple there got engaged last weekend too. Whenever this happens there’s a collective card and then the quiz master announces it which is lovely. However, when I went up to collect one of our quiz sheets, he turned to me and said ‘when’s your announcement going to be, shall we order you a card to have on standby?’ UGH!

Honestly, I had to get off of facebook.  No joke you will get depressed if you are on there seeing EVERYONE get engaged, EVERYONE having a baby and EVERYONE being so happy for them.  You will say ‘Hey, when will this happen for me?’ lol.  The nice thing about this is that instead of feeling bitter for EVERYONE’s joy, I started to see that as the friends that I cared about the most got engaged, married, preggers, I started to feel genuine joy for them.  I have not been on facebook for about 2 years or so.  It’s much better that way for me, maybe it will work for you too!
