I LOVE yellow gold rings! I think yellow gold is so classy and it just looks RICH! I wear both, and I went with White gold just because I figured it was more muted and easier to wear with both white and yellow, but I think all of these rings are GORGEOUS! For a long time, before we found my ring, I loved this Tacori just because I love both yellow and white so much and I have a lot of two-tone jewelry like my Yurman pieces and such:

I LOVE colored gold–it just has extra life to it, IMO. When I get under good lights and have my plum purple coat on, my yellow gold e-ring looks SO gorgeous! something about the yellow gold and purple…so elegant- I can’t imagine that with white gold.
Also, I think there’s the factor of skin tone–my Fiance and I both look much better with yellow and colored golds better than white/silver. They’re just richer and classier with our skin tones.
My wedding ring is being made at the moment, in rose gold but what I think a lot of people forgot to mention is that a GOOD JEWELER will have the stone SET in white gold! just the bandwork will be colored. I’m so excited to get my rose gold ring back!!!

Personally I kind of have to LOL a bit when I hear people say that “any good jeweler will tell you a diamond stands out or ‘shows better’ on white gold”. As a photographer, I know that isn’t true. Colors stand out with contrasting colors – that’s just how it is. There’s also complimentary colors for each other color that again, will stand out / look great with each other.
Funny, you always hear people talk about how a diamond stands out against the yellow gold, like it’s unexpected… Of course it does!!! The thought of it standing out more on white gold is like telling me my cat barks. If you walk into an all white room with all white furniture, I’m certain you wouldn’t say “Wow, that chair really stands out!”
I personally think saying that is a ploy by jewelers to get the sale. Considering common sense, I’m amazed at how many people buy that idea!! Same as the whole X amount salary = X amount ring (DeBeers marketing strategy). How ridiculous is that?!
By the way, beautiful rings ladies 🙂 Here is mine!

Yay for yellow gold!! I love it… although my setting has white gold around it… I wouldn’t have gone for ANYTHING that did have yellow gold… 🙂

Here’s my engagement ring. I had also thought I had to have white gold, but my fiance surprised me with this beautiful ring. I love it! It’s unique and different from what I feel like just about every other bride has these days.

@6598731ssfse3: I am obsessed with your ring. If you don’t mind me asking, what carat is it? I think it’s a perfect size and my boyfriend and I have been ring shopping. (:

@araina126: Stone is 1.25 carats and my finger is size 5, for proportion reference. 🙂
