I have always liked yellow gold better, I guess I always thought white gold looked more like silver?  I dunno, hahah.

My promise ring is white gold, it would look silly in yellow, but my engagement ring is yellow.  I agree that yellow gold jewelry is so hard to find now, everything is listed in white!  It took my fiancé forEVER to find the ring he wanted to buy, at the price he wanted to pay, and in the right colour.

For what it’s worth, I used to think that mixing metal colours was a no-no, but my e-ring is yellow but has white gold prongs, and I do wear my white gold promise ring on my right hand and IDGAF who says it’s a fashion faux pas.

I have always loved yellow gold. It warms my heart and my wardrobe lol! (I wear a lot of dark and cool-toned colors)

The only fine jewelry I have that is not yellow gold is a pair of earrings.  Everything else is yellow gold because white metal looks awful with my skin tone.

I don’t understand why anyone would say yellow gold is tacky.  It’s the natural color of the metal.

@Purple_Bride:  I love your e-ring!  It looks similar to mine, but I think the side baguettes are longer in yours.  I can’t really tell from the pic, but does yours have small round stones on either side of the center one?

@strawbabies:  Nope.  I’ve seen those though.   Let me find the stock photo…  (I just came across this by accident the other day, it popped up in an ad on facebook and I was like, hey that looks like my ring!  and it turned out to be exactly where fh got my ring from, lol)

Yellow gold is just beginning to have a resurgence of popularity, so you’re actually “ahead of the curve,” jewelers are realizing the need to stock more yg inventory to meet renewed interest, which is a hassle for them because most of them have a large surplus of white metal jewelry stock now (ppl are still buying white, but not like before).

But the best way to choose a metal is to just go with what you’ve always been drawn to. A trend may start to look more appealing to you in the short term, but try to remember when you had no idea what metal was in fashion. What did your eye instinctively prefer to see?

I asked Fiance not to get me any ring in gold, but not because I thought it was old fashioned (really?) I don’t like it on my skin because I have light brown skin and I don’t think it “pops” against my skin. I like white gold because it does just that.

My ring is yelllow gold (antique) :), i prefer yellow gold tbh lol white gold doesn’t look right on me. Which is why we didn’t go the diamond route and went for my birthstone instead ^^.

It was difficult me when looking at rings because I knew I wanted yellow gold, but I felt like all the settings I liked were in white gold or platinum. Luckily I LOVE the ring my FH got me, and he had it custom designed to be in yellow gold. I feel like it’s a little old and a little new! I personally think that it depends on the person what kind of metal you choose, as everyone has a preference and they are ALL beautiful!!!

@peacockrosebride:  Is that a peridot? If so, that’s my birthstone too and I’ve never seen a more beautiful setting for it! Amazing ring!
