Ok so I’ve wondered how to do this for years probably…. you know that ugly yellow-tinge nails can get when you have polish on them for too long? I finally found out how to get rid of this for good and also take care of your nails to get them back into natural polish-free shape (especially for summer/spring)
after removing polish from hands or feet:
1. buff/file the top of each nail with either the ‘soft’ side of the file or a nail buffer, sometimes these come in white and have low-gradient sand which is actually better than a regular file.
2. get a cotton ball and soak it in hydrogen peroxide, rub this on each nail for about 30 seconds leaving the nail wet and moving onto the next one, the peroxide will help bleach the nail back to its natural tone (never use bleach!)
3. soak hands in a gentle warm water/gentle soap solution for a few minutes
I tried this this morning and it really worked. As someone who had natural nails for my wedding, it’s a great way to keep nails in shape. I’ve read hydrogen peroxide if used this way every so often is a great pick-me-up for longer nails as well if they start to get discoloured.
Hope this helps. I’m a stickler for natural remedies and have been experimenting with natural beauty solutions for years now. This is one I would recommend!
