I vote yellow gold because it’s classic and I have it, so I’m a bit biased. But also, white gold will need redone after so long. Yellow gold will not. That’s something to think about.

I usually prefer white gold, but in this case I actually really like the look of the yellow gold with the diamond band the most.

Gold is yellow. You never need a special reason to buy gold in its natural state…lol. It’s beautiful on you!

sesame :  No one I know was shocked I got yellow gold. They all think my ring is beautiful, or at least they say it is!

Yellow gold has definitely been making a comeback- if you’re married for any length of time trends and fashion will change and the popularity of what’s on your hand will wax and wane.

I have white gold, largely because I have a sapphire and preferred the look of white gold with it. I’ve been really loving the yellow gold I’ve been seeing recently though, and I’m considering getting a couple plain yellow gold bands to wear on either side of my eternity ring.

I suggest you get whichever metal color you think is the most flattering on your skin tone and that you will still be happy to wear when it is out of style. When I got married there was no internet shopping. We were pretty much limited to whatever was in the local jewelry stores at the time and for me that was yellow gold. I prefer the color of silver or platinum metal on me but my wedding set was yellow gold. So when it no longer fit after birthing a few babies, I stopped wearing it. I did not like it enough to even want to spend the money to have it sized up. Get whichever metal makes you the happiest when you see it on your hand and don’t worry about what others think or say about it.

ETA And if it makes you happy to wear more than one color, then do that!

Get what you like. The benifit of a solitare is is cheaper to change it if you want. That’s what I did. I got mine in platinum but if I want yellow gold in the furture it is not expensive to change it.

Again another Bee who has yellow gold. People for me weren’t necessarily shocked that I went for yellow gold, but my grandma said ‘most people your age go for white gold’. Not in a condescending way, as she has yellow gold and loves it. Go with what you prefer. White gold may look old fashioned in 20 years with rose/yellow gold rising in popularity. It’s all about what you like ☺️

I have had other white gold rings before and I hate how they look when they need replating and since they turn quite quickly with my skin chemistry, I went for yellow gold for the purpose of I knew it wouldn’t change colour on me.

and tbh I love my yellow gold so so much! I love the warmth of it and it’s beautiful on my skin tone.

Definetely go with what looks good to you, it doesn’t matter what other people think but yea I would consider platinum if you want a white metal without the replating issue 🙂
