can ivory dresses have a yellow tint?
my dress arrived today and I’m over the moon with it 🙂 fit perfect and will only need altering on the length however I feel it has a slight yellow tinge? I know there are many shades to Ivory so can this be one or is it a sign of age?
I’m gonna try it again tomorrow, I do like the colour, feels a bit warmer and works well with my very pale skin.
very strange question I know I just doubt myself a lot!

my dress is ivory, and it definitely has a “buttercream” hue. there are many shades from offwhite to more antique colors. normal! 🙂

thank you 🙂 buttercream that’s a better description! Like I said I love the colour just don’t want someone looking and thinking it looks like it’s been in a cupboard for years, the women I bought it from said it brand new never worn( apart from trying on), which shows, so just wanted confirmation I’m not being overly picky!
Dress feels amazing when I put it on and a bargain price so makes it so much better 🙂

Some ivory definitely is more yellow than others. I had an ivory dress with a blush underlay, so it looked more pink-ish than yellow. We considered an ivory shirt for my husband but were shocked at how yellow the men’s shirts were compared to my dress. We ended up picking white for his shirt because it matched better. Moral of the story being that there are many different shades of ivory! Go look at what menswear considers ivory and you will see what I mean! I am sure your dress is beautiful whichever shade it is. You can choose flowers and your other colors to compliment the shade if you are worried about it looking vintage etc.
