They are looking fantastic!
They are looking fantastic!
Wow..you did a great job…I wish I had half the creativity or the focus.
Well ladies, it came down to crunch time… My bridal shower was Friday so I didn’t touch them at all on Friday. Saturday rolled around and I worked on the unfinished shoe a bit, but since there were so many visiting from out of town I didn’t dedicate much time to them, that is until last night. I was up until 1 am struggling because I so wanted to wear these shoes for my bridal photo shoot today. Here is where I left off Saturday night (well Sunday morning at 1).
So, I had to get up at 7 to take my aunt to the airport this morning and once I got back home I got back to work. The photo shoot was at 2 so I just KNEW I could finish (as much as had planned anyway, I left the toe platform and buckle unfinished).
Although I had NO IDEA how I was going to have my hair for this photo shoot, and was a little worried that I’d lose a few crystals off my just finished shoe, I got them done, got ready an ran out of the door…
Now that the photo shoot is done and I have a month before the ceremony, I am going to take a break on these. I feel great about accomplishing them in a weeks time (thank God for spring break). So, school starts back up for me tomorrow, but this HUGE last minute project has been completed.
Thank you ladies for all of your nice words and encouragement!
Freaking beautiful!!!!! Great Job!
Holy cow! Now THAT is dedication! I can only imagine how much time this took. They look amazing. I’d love to see pics of you wearing them with your dress! Update us after the wedding!
They look great!!! You acomplised that in good timing! Way to go!
you did SUCH a great job with these! how creative!
I’m impressed !! You are a fighter missy !! Cant wait to see the pictures 🙂
Wow. Just found this post, and seeing the progress is amazing. Those look so awesome! I really hope that you get back to working on them soon, because that is impressive. Not sure I would have the patience for working with all those tiny crystals!
Wow your shoes look amazing!!! I don’t think I am patient enough, but the result is Gorgeous!!! The before and after of these shoes is unreal.
They came out great, I would love to see how they look with your dress! You mentioned your crystals were not Swarowski, is there a substantial cost savings? Do oyu feel that they are look or feel any differnet? Just wondering as I see many of the strassing projects on here use Swarowski and are super expensive. Good job on this project! If you reun out of time, I think you could just do the glitter glue on the platform without taking away from the look.
Overall I am pleased with my decision to do them and with the outcome. Next time I will probably go with swarovski just to say that I did (yes I said next time, crazy I know), but until then these work perfectly!
I’ll probably finish them next weekend so I don’t have to worry about them.
Thanks everyone for the kind words, I am glad to be a bee, and I got my idea from being here!
WOAH. we are weekend twins, and I am TOE-TALLY NOT trying to finish something this ambitious in the next 4 weeks!
You are amazing!!! They look great and I cant believe you did it that quickly!
@KTWJackson: Hey! I noticed you did blue over black and it looks great! Do you think the red siam colors would look ok over black, (anyone is welcome to send some advice on this)? I found a nice (read:cheap) pair of shoes, but they are black patent. Didn’t know if I should try it, or wait for red. I can’t sharpie black. What do you think?
The topic ‘Yep, I’m insane!!! My last minute DIY “strass” shoes! PIC HEAVY!’ is closed to new replies.
