I’m tempted too. Their site seems well put together and all my seamstress friends say that every bridal gown is made overseas at lower-cost rates (that’s why they can’t get fabric to match here).

But I too emailed them and haven’t heard back, which doesn’t add to my ease in taking a risk with them. I was thinking about ordering a bridesmaid’s dress and seeing how that worked out, but then I thought, “Come on, the wedding gowns are only 75 more. If you’re gonna gamble with 80, why not gamble with $155 and either win or lose? Besides, even if the Bridesmaid or Best Man dress comes back fine, there’s no gaurantee that the wedding dress would”.

   So I didn’t do it.

I still might though. I’m going to Chicago this weekend to shop resale boutiques. But I expect each dress to still be in the $1000’s.

I used to work in the furniture industry and it was the same there – a 400 percent mark up was average! Frown

If you decide, let me know!

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS SITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh my gosh, I ordered from them 6 weeks ago and recieved my dresses today and they are awful!!!!!!!!!! They lookes nothing like the picture and when I called to complain they said well you should try ironing it and when I told them the dress doesnt look like the photo and it is not as described they told me that name brand dresses always look different and I should try ironing the dress. They are knock offs if any of you didnt know! They also said that they never said it would look exactly like the photo! Why would anyone order from a site thinking the dress wasnt going to look like the photo? It was ridiculous! I then went to leave a review and they have to approve your review before it is posted! I am sooooo unhappy with my purchase and so disappointed! I finally got them to agree to refund the money after about 2 hours and sending photos to them and so now everything is up in the air! Hopefully I get my refund but not I am out $40 in shipping charges!

The description states a KNEE high ball gown. This is a VERY VERY tall 5 year old in the 2nd photo. I also ordered a size 2T for a 2 year old and the same situation(dress hits the ankle). This photo also shows several layers of tulle but the dress only has one!

My fiancé and I decided to have our wedding on the beach with just the two of us so spending thousands of dollars on a dress didn’t make much sense. I still wanted to look my best of course. I was worried about buying a dress online, but it was such a good price that I took the gamble. The dress was really nice and everyone who saw me complimented my dress. I did pay the extra money for the custom fit, but I still had to take it in to get altered which cost me $140. I think getting it altered to fit my body really made the dress look more expensive. One crucial piece of advice-if you take the measurement hallow to floor (for the length) add some inches because mine was shorter than the measurements I gave them. I’m not sure why that happened, but for me it was not a huge deal since I was in the sand. I would definitely order another dress from Ybridal.

(I bought the Trumpet Strapless Chapel Train Silklike Satin Wedding Dress WTM0030 and posted this exact review there also).

I am currently ordering a dress off of ybridal, and yes the only reason they are so cheap is labor and fabric over seas is ALOT less expensive. also they do not have such a flux in prices for more popular items as we do here.

i am ordering the dress in the first link in the color of the dress in the second link, for this years usmc ball.

http://www.ybridal.com/special-occasion-dresses/evening-dresses/trumpet-sweetheart-floor-length-satin-bridesmaid-evening-dress.html

i should recieve it later on this month so i will keep you updated. i hope it turns out well as this is a trail for my wedding gown.

also i have contacted them numerous amounts of times w/ questions and comments, and they always seem to answer within 11 hours(probably cause of the time difference). the one who answers my uestions is signed emily, she has been very helpful, even if i am rude or impaitient at times. the other person who sent me my confirmation email thogh has not gotten back to me.

also as too the pictures not matching the actual dress, well on one hand- they cant match exactly, but if you go for a “knockoff” dress, as they say the designer took that gown then put their own spin on it(which it says in description) it will not look the same. and they do sometimes have pics of the dresses that they make.

on the plus side, i really like the custome measurements. they ask for more measurements than any of the other ‘same type’ site(ie over seas makers), w/ fraction of the cost.

so as far i would reccomend this site as they have been very helpful, even sending me color/fabric swatch pictures, as i did not have time to send away for theres- which s only 19.99, answered all of my uestions and are very reassuring. i will post a pic of the dress when i recieve it. cross your fingers for me, the ball is a very important event to me and my hubby, want to look my absolute best 😉

We ordered a dress for my daughter from this company thinking, if it doesn’t work out, we’d go to a bridal shop and get one.  (The price just couldn’t be better, and felt it was worth the risk!)  She had tried on dresses at a shop and kind of knew what she was looking for. (I think this helped, because she knew what the different styles looked like on her.)   She found one on the site she liked and ordered.  She did not do the specific measurements (I would recommend doing this for a more perfect fit.) but just ordered her size.  The dress came in a small box and I was very nervous!  When I opened the box, I was pleasantly surprised!  The dress was not designer, for sure, but I can’t afford $15,000 for a dress either!  The dress was beautiful and well represented the picture on the site.  The only problem with it was that some of the sequins on the bottom weren’t sewn tight enough and hung loosely and it needs to be pressed.  Easy enough to fix!  For the price that we paid, I am VERY satisfied!  We’re even going to order our bridesmaids dresses from here, just waiting on the swatches to come in!

I just ordered a dress from this site for a wedding at the end of this month (June): http://www.ybridal.com/wedding-dresses/formal-wedding-dress/ball-gown-sweetheart-chapel-train-taffeat-lace-wedding-dress.html

Customer service by email, with a person named Cindy, has been fine.    Cindy asked when the wedding would be after I ordered and paid for the dress through paypal, and I told her I needed it by June 25 (wedding is June 27).   Cindy then responded that the dressmaker will be able to have it completed by June 18 and sent to me before June 25.

I got the dress with the option of customized precise sizing (bust, waist, hips, hollow to hem, shoulder to waist) – and the customized sizes are to the nearest inch, not centimeter, as you might expect, but apparently this company does quite a lot of business in North America.

The basic dress cost is $175, the customized sizing option is $19.99, and the shipping (anywhere from USPS to FedEx or UPS) was about $53 (the lowest priced shipping option was about $48 and the highest about $53, so I picked the highest priced, fastest option of FedEx or UPS).

The total for the dress, with customized sizing, and shipping was just under $220. I am waiting with fingers crossed, and hoping to be pleased.  I will post the results here.

@gonnagethitched: I ordered my dress (not custom-taylored) on May 9th. It is June 10th and I’m still waiting for it… They responded (yesterday) that it will be shipped in 2-5 days.  Good luck.

I’ve recieved my UPS tracking number and a package is on it’s way.  I think I have my reality-shoes on and don’t have high expectation of the quality nor an exact match of the photo.

But I chose one that is simple and probably fairly hard to screw up totally.  And easy for me to alter myself (side seams and maybe a lifting across the shoulder seams and hemming… the hemming I may get someone else to do.)

I’m 50 years old and this is my 2nd marriage, so I chose a Mother of the Bride dress with a train in Champagne.  Besides, I think I look a little like the model although I’ve cut my hair short-short again (think Alyssa Milano). I will wear it pixie-curly with side-swept bangs with a bit of pouf in the back with a simple band of rhinestones tiara-style:

http://www.ybridal.com/mother-of-the-bride-dresses/sheath-v-neck-sweep-train-chiffon-mother-of-the-bride-dress-mob0047.html

If I were really picky or totally strapped for cash, I probably wouldn’t have taken this risk.

My impressions so far along the way:

1) Yes Bridal is very good at quickly anwering questions via email.  Prompt replies to my inquiries throughout.  I also seem to have been assigned a single point of contact “Catherine”.  Very professional. ++

2) Expect the process to take as long (or longer) than they originally state.  I was flexible about the date, so didn’t complain.  But Catherine repeatedly asked when my date is.  So there is a possibility that they will prioritize and rush if you push them to.  Meeting the deadline — (?)

I will post again once I get the dress.
