I’m down to 5 months to go. I have my dress!! The story however goes,
I never wanted to spent more than $1000 on my dress, actually $500 (but you feel weird walking into a bridal shop saying that). anyway all the dresses i found that i liked were all $1400-$2400. I just couldn’t do it. So at pre stocktake time I went in to a very gorgeous boutique place here in Adelaide to see as they had many dresses for $500-$1000. We tried on a few and as I only had my lil 4.5 yr old boy with me I had to make a choice. And i found it!! I loved it and then when she said $500 I was sold (although after 3hrs in a bridal shop we went off for lunch and a think. The lady said if i took it that day I could take it for $400 !! OMG So i called my sister and she said do it!!!
Here is the dress, It is Silk and swarovski crystals
(sorry bout the massive pics)
Now gorgeous i know and i bought it (no refund) I knew is was a sample gown and would need a dryclean. but i didnt notice at the time that the beading was in bad shape (however i figured out that i can repair it myself easy!!) AND that i can only wear 5cm heels.
I began to hate it and cryed that i didnt see me in this dress in my head, I always envisioned something like this.
I threw my dress on the spare bed and didnt look at it again, I was going to have a new one made from China most likley……. Then i tried my original on again(thats the first pic)
I’m going to see my dress maker again and see about removing alot of the train so it falls more sheath like.
What’s some opinions ladies (long post I know sorry but theres still a small part of me that thinks i should get another one)

Oh my gosh your dress is stunning! Absolutely stunning! I don’t think you should change a thing, but if it makes you happy to have a seamstress look at it then do it. I wouldn’t buy another dress though, you’ve got a winner there! What a great price too – well done!!
You could add a poll to see opinion results more clearly too maybe 🙂

@batamont: I think the sample dress you bought looks fantastic on you!!
The shape is very similar to the dress you posted as your dream dress. Honestly, I think you should stick with the dress you have. I love the beading under the bust and any loose beads/stones can be fixed. Don’t give up on the dress just because it needs a cleaning.
With your dream dress, I think the placing of the sparkly belt and the draping of the fabric makes the model’s hips look larger than they are. Just my 2 cents.

i love everything about your current dress… exactly as it is!

I love your dress so much more than the other dress you posted! It looks super flattering on you. I don’t think the other dress is as flattering.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the dress you purchased! It looks beautiful on you. I don’t think the 2nd dress would do you justice 🙁

I have already been to the seamstress as there are a few lil cosmetic fixups needed and maybe a lil taking in at the sides (however i like the feeling of it looser).
The back of the train is VERY dirty and maynot come out so i thought i might have it reduced.
I feel great in the dress again but i still have this niggle in my mind…. but then I think.. I’M GETTING MARRIED!!!! I’M SO HAPPY!! So it will be perfect any way.

Oh ladies THANKYOU so much!! Exhails… ahhhh. I am thinking i might just add some extra touches to add some more ME to it.
My boss said to me that within 5 hugs my beads will be falling off any way and no one will notice. (the main beading issues are at the back) I gave it a go rebeading and suprisingly i did rather well!!

Like the prior posters, I love your original dress so much more than the type of dress you’re considering. You look stunning in your gown!

@batamont: I agree with PP’s, the dress you’ve bought is beautiful and what a steal for 400! It looks amazing and nobody will ever guess! I agree that the 2nd dress just wouldn’t do your figure justice and that dress you’ve bought is amazing. A dryclean and a bit of alterations and I think you will be in love again.

This is a very unclear pic of the back, the beading along the straps and just along the back is the part im fixing up. And it sort of has this “out to the side train” that i’m not sure about…. Thoughts?
