- Wedding: November 2010
When I bought my gown, it was totally unexpected. I went to David’s Bridal to just try things on and see what would look good on me, and I really liked the second gown I had on, plus it was marked down from $1,050 to (after a coupon I had) $574. It was a sample, the last one they had, and I got it right away.
I knew I’d be spending money on alterations, so this way I wouldn’t have to worry much about alteration costs (since my total budget was $1,000). The dress is a size bigger than my size, it’s really loose at the waist, but I’m one of those people with a waist much smaller than the rest of the “badangandan”
Anyway, once my friend finally sent me the pictures, I can’t help but look at the pooch on my stomach! It looks like I’m 3 months pregnant! I am hoping on losing a few pounds before the wedding (aren’t we all?), but that pooch will likely still be there.
I can’t afford to buy a new dress though, even though I keep looking at other things I adore.
Now, as everyone else here posts, I REALLY need your HONEST opinion on it (ignore my unmade up face and my dirty hair….). Once I get altered (you can see how it sags a bit under the bust/above the waist), would that pooch just stand out more? And do I look *gasp* too fat in it? (Or worse, as if I’m hiding a pregnancy? I’m not…)
I’m wearing a long-line bra, but it doesn’t help with the bulge. I have big thick thighs, and I’m afraid that the spanx ending on mid-thigh might leave an obvious line when I walk around. Plus, I’m getting married in Rio, when the average temperature will be around the 80’s and 90’s, I’m afraid the spanx will make me sweat like crazy…
So here it is…
