I can see the pooch as well, don’t worry it’s not your imagination. But you can use some shapeware and/or start jogging some… just remember to keep your heart rate somewhere between 65% and 75% of your maximum (where maximum is 220 – your age). Lots of people hit the gym but unless you actually do some running you won’t lose weight.

Btw you’re a very beautiful lady πŸ™‚

I think you look great in the dress!!

I actually purchased the same gown and have a very similar body type. I purchased the seamless spanx and it made a big difference. I wore the spanx out one day to see how I felt about wearing them for an entire day. They didn’t bother me because they sit right under a typical bra line (still low enough for the low back). If you need a bra, you can buy a strapless or you can wear the spanx under the long line. It sounds like a lot going on, but it’s not that bad.

Edit: I also have the sagging under the bust/above the waist (I’m bigger on the bottom). They said that once the dress is taken in, that won’t be a problem. They make the top of the dress bigger because it’s easier to take it in than let it out!

I agree with DemoDreamer. I think the crease in the fabric is accentuating your curves there, making you feel like you have a pooch in photos. It may not be too tight, but something seems to need a bit of adjusting. I think a professional seamstress can easily solve the issue. I would steer clear of the Davids Bridal associates.

I’m not sure if its because the dress isn’t altered correctly, but I definitely see the “pooch” you are talking about.  I think that the dress may be too tight around your hips, which is helping to create or accentuate that unflattering portion.  Just seeing you in the dress, it’s obvious you are thin with a great figure.  I think the dress really doesn’t show it off though, instead, it accentuates problem areas.  Hopefully the alterations can fix this (I mean that’s what alterations are for right?!)  I wouldn’t get it altered at DB though.  Go to a professional.

Looking at the picture again, I really think that the problem is that right at your hips, the dress is too tight.  I also think that the corset should be lined with either at thicker lining or a second layer of lining to stiffen up the bodice and prevent that protrusion at the tummy.  Also, if you carry that thicker lining throughout the dress, it will help weigh it down and if you let out the hip area a bit, I think it would flow down much nicer without that gathering at the hips, which is making that area pooch out rather than smooth over.

If you get a great seamtress, she will make this dress fit you like a glove (and in a good way!!)

Good luck lady!

Re: the Spanx. Got married on a very hot day in the Dominican Republic.
I wore some that go almost down to my knees!! Not because I need shapewear, but only to make sure that my legs don’t sweat to a point where I can’t cross them if I want.  It was hot, but I’m glad I had them! You will sweat anyway under your dress, spanx will help you handle the sweat factor.

I think it looks awesome on you! honestly really do!  I can see the problem area you are talking about….But i have good words for you…..My sister my size TWO sister got married a few years ago….she has bigger hips in proportion to the rest of her body…..this caused her dress to pull a little in the hips!  She had a TOTAL melt down when she saw pictures of herself in it b/c she had a “pooch”.  Once the seamstresses took it all in the fabric didnt pull and it laid flat.  Her wedding photos were completly flawless!  Especially with me….her pregnant sister squeezed into a bridesmaid dress πŸ™‚  So if all else fails….enlist a preggo buddy to stand with you!  No seriously though dont stress it it looks amazing on you!  They will get it worked out AND your fiance is marrying you because he loves you for you….not because you dont have a “pooch” (that is tooooootally tiny!!!!) He is going to be paying attention to you and looking into your eyes not focusing on little flaws!  You will be beautiful on your day  Smile
