@shaney:  of all the dresses posted here, I think the one you currently have is the most flattering. All you need is some shapewear/corset, and you are good to go. Undergarments can change the look of nearly everything!

I think that it is really pretty and I don’t think you should worry! Get some shapewear and enjoy it!

Could you find a more flattering dress than the one you have now? Yes. But so could EVERYONE posting here! There is always going to be a “better” dress out there, but it sounds like because of timing, you’re going to have to be ok with your dress. I agree with others that it could be made more flattering with some great shapewear, and I think that adding a sash at the natural waist instead of at the empire point could help define your waistline even more. I haven’t used Rago shapewear but I’ve heard good things about it, might be worth looking into. I think it is a lovely dress, and you are going to look fabulous in it on your wedding day!

P.S. try it with the fullest slip it can handle under there; you don’t want it to look overstuffed on the bottom, but more fullness at the hem line will help make your waist look its tiniest. You’d be surprised how much the right slip can change the way a dress looks on someone! You can order slips inexpensively from eBay, or if you know someone who sews, they can sew crinoline directly into the lining of the dress.

I think everyone has a moment or two of regreat because they wonder if there was still something better out there, that being said, if you didn’t like it from when you bought it then you probably shouldn’t have bought it. In my own experiances I went shopping once with just my fiancee cause I was in the whole wonder of being recently engaged and I ended up ordering a replica of the dress I liked at the store for cheaper. When the dress came it was a lot shinner than what it was at the store and I felt it was cheaply made. I played around in it for a bit but decided it was okay still and I still liked it. Then when I went to my mothers she saw it and hated it to death, said it was nothing of my personailty and too plain. Basically my mother killed that dress for me and we went shopping again the next time I visited and found the perfect one. If you could trade dresses I would say the second dress picture you showed was the best in my opinion.

The Maggie is divine! I agree that the first dress could be a lot more flattering too. It isn’t that you don’t have a great figure but that particular style of dress is notoriously unforgiving for anyone whose shape errs towards the apple, rather than the pear.
