I know there are a number of posts about this, and I’ve read a lot of them, but I would like to try and get specific feedback about this dressmaker and this dress…
I was in Alfred Angelo and fell in LOVE with this dress. Actually, I don’t know if love really is a strong enough word. http://www.alfredangelo.com/Collections/ProductDisplay.aspx?productID=8ca23a8e-e0f4-4efb-a33e-462b52b06b01&categoryID=32e5a88c-cbf1-498f-afcf-dbfca138c5d3&pg=4&colorId1=
Alfred Angelo 2023 if the link doesn’t work.
It’s way out of my budget (sigh). But I found an online Chinese tailor that will replicate it for me for just under $200 and throw in a little bolero jacket to match. I lived in China for a while and know where to fudge my measurements to get the dress the way I want it, so I’m ok with that part – but I’d like some feedback.
The seller I found is http://www.perfectbridaldress.com or perfect.bridal on ebay. The ebay feedback looked very positive, though there isn’t a lot of it. When I wrote them for more information, they wrote back right away with answers to my very specific questions.
Does anyone have any experience with this seller? Or any feedback about the process in general. I’ve read a number of posts and it seems that the bulk of the negative comments have to do with lace & there’s no lace here. So… any help would be appreciated!

Have you tried on the Alfred dress? I feel like for a $200 the beading will be lacking. I got a relatively simple replica (design-wise) and it’s cute but a bit lacking.
You can see my post here.
The one it was based on is this one.

Yes, I did try on the Alfred Angelo and loved it… my only complaint was the length of the train – probably about 3′ & way to long for my Vegas wedding! Aside from that – amazing dress.

I’ve tried that one on too, it’s super flattering! The beading is super complicated, though, and I would worry about the seamstress being able to do all that. Could you maybe send her a message and ask if you can pay a bit more to have the beading exactly replicated? Maybe if you offer to pay just a little more she’ll be more willing to put in all the extra hours it would take.

Actually, it was the shape of the dress that I loved… the wrap-around bodice with the split-look skirt was soooooo slimming and amazingly flattering! I remeber the shape and look more than the beading. I would probably be satisfied even if the beading was a bit less as long as the shape was correct. 🙂

From everything that I have heard about ordering dresses from China you should be prepared for the materials to not be as nice as the Alfred Angelo dress and the beading will not as intricate or well done.
Have you considered finding the dress used on a site like http://www.oncewed.com? Or maybe you can find a sample dress somewhere? Just some suggestions!
