Hi, Bees! First off, you’ve all been so helpful in my incredibly long ring hunt. Finally I’m deciding on what I would like. I’ve decided to order a loose stone and a setting separately. Moissanite Co. doesn’t have any settings I’m in love with and after trying to force myself to choose one I realized I could just order separately from somewhere else.
So bees, where would you buy a setting? I want to keep it around $400. There are a couple on Blue Nile I like, but I’m open to others. I’m looking for a plain shank solitaire, either 4 or 6 prong, that is thin and delicate looking.
I know some bees are better at hunting than me, so I’d love your ideas!

Check out James Allen…
They have a bunch of solitaires and varying widths in bothfour and six prong, in all different metals. They’re a reputable company with nice quality jewelry. I would stay away from eBay myself…

deBebians has a lot of affordable solitaire engagement rings settings: http://www.debebians.com/solitaire-engagement-rings.html
We bought my engagement ring from them as well as our wedding bands. They’ve been terrific!

James Allen has a whole bunch, but I’m not sure if they’ll set moissy. You’d have to email and ask. http://www.jamesallen.com/engagement-rings/solitaire-rings/

have you researched different local jewelers? they might be able to find settings for you, maybe even at cost. you’re going to need to find one to actually set the stone for you anyway 🙂
