That is terrrible. I think it may have been a faulty prong. Get them to check them all when you get it to the jewelers so it doesn’t happen again.

Bummer!  I would be so bummed.  I have not lost any of my diamonds, but do worry about that all the time!

I had the diamond fall out of the ring and cried all that night. It fell out during a cook-out and I didn’t notice right away. Luckily FH had taken out an extended warranty and the jeweler’s replaced. I definitely like the replacement diamond more!

I lost a diamond from my wedding band (the jeweler replaced it for free) then I lost my rings months later. It’s a dumb story that involves me taking them off to avoid damage. I still feel so dumb and guilty, but it made me feel a little better when I saw that other bees have lost theirs as well. At least I’m not the only one. We’re looking for replacements now.

I never have lost one of the diamonds, but this is a great lesson for recently engaged Bees to always make sure they get their wedding set insured!! (My husband lost his ring on our honeymoon, so we had to learn that lesson the hard way.)

ive lost 2 stones and almost lost the entire ring

1st side stone i lost while swimming my hand hit the lane barrier

2nd side stone fell out while i was at that DMV and i was turning the band and it just popped out in my hand

i almost lost my entire ring because when engaged i had a bad habit of twirling the ring on my finger and once i did it and it flew off my finger, bounced on the inside car door and thank god bounced into the car – the window was wide open and could have bounced onto a major highway.  i stopped the twirling habit then and there

I had a stone fall out of the setting of my first ering and I was so upset even though I had a great warranty and insurance. It was the night I got engaged and it came out of a bezel setting! I got it fixed the next day and it only took 15 mins, but I always worried about it after that. I ultimately decided to trade it in and get a simple solitaire.

@MrsEdamame:  I second the importance of insurance. No one thinks they will be the person who loses their ring, but things happen. It’s always awful, but it would have been much worse if we hadn’t had insurance.

Well, that really sucks!  I’d be so bummed.

They will have to keep it in order to replace the stone. They’ll have to match the color and size to the other stones, and will most likely have to order the stone from a supplier. It isn’t uncommon for prongs to become lose, especially with smaller stones.

My grandmother’s center stone fell out at a restaurant when I was really young. They had the whole restaurant on the floor looking. I found it…and the restaurant burnt down the week later…. I am SO glad we found it and didn’t realize it after we left!!

I have a side stone fall out, just a week or so after I finally got the ring back from resizing. The jewelry store said that resizing could have resulted in loosened prongs. It did take another week to get repaired though! Since then I’ve had no problems, although I am very careful with the ring.

I lost my whole ring for 6 months… worst 6 months ever.

OP- Your center stone is SUCH a pretty pink!!! Is it a pink diamond or a morganite or something else?  I love it!!!

I haven’t had a side stone fall out… But I’m always worried that it will happen and I won’t notice – So thanks for posting the pic 🙂 Now I know that it would be noticeable if it fell out! haha 🙂
