I really like doing yoga in order to relax, achieve balance, etc. I also have found it really helpful for improving flexibility. Right now, I’m putting together a diet/exercise plan to get in shape and look good for my wedding day…I’m wondering, do any of you have experience with using yoga to lose weight or get toned? My gym offers power yoga classes which seem pretty challenging physically, but I’m just wondering if it will be a good way to get the nice toned shoulders, back, and tummy I’d love to have in my strapless dress and on my honeymoon.
Yoga bees, what do you think?

yoga is definitely a great way to tone up, but those sexy muscles won’t show unless you do some cardio to lose any extra weight! yoga builds lean strength, but i know i don’t work hard enough doing it to burn enough calories for weight loss!

Good point about the cardio – I definitely plan to work in yoga as maybe a once or twice a week thing.
Anyone else have experience with this?

I do pilates on my “off” days of working out. It tones me up, and it’s relaxing. Its a good way to stay active and not fall off the wagon of your work out routine.
