Don’t forget to bring LOTS of water (and a towel!) if you do Bikram yoga! 😉

You should try the yoga fit dvds, I used to go to the yoga fit studio before it closed down. Theres a lot of different kinds yoga butt, yoga abs, power yoga. It was my all time favorite yoga studio!

oh ya I forgot I dont like bikram yoga at all. Its way too hot and focuses alot on holding poses. I prefer to do yoga that is more flowing.

I love Yoga! I actually find that it makes me stronger. Once I usually find a great Yoga instructor I never want to change.

I took a class this summer called Athlete’s Yoga (geared toward marathoners and triatheletes) and I LOVED it.  I can’t even describe how good I felt when I left, the studio closed and is not now located very close to me so I’m considering a new studio and I want to try Bikram Yoga!!

Bikram is not really advanced, it just depends how well you do with heat. Personally I get faint when its too hot. Yoga studios already keep the heat on for stretching purposes, but bikram yoga keeps it around 95-100 degrees. Because the heat is so high the actual work out is not as vigorous as in normal yoga. I prefer to get a better work out at a cooler temp =). Definitly try the yoga fit dvds!

I love yoga.  I’ve also done bikram (although it’s been a while) and I loved that, too.  My favorite DVDs come from Sara Ivanhoe–she has TONS and I like her 20-minute yoga series.  I also recommend checking out a live class.  You get a different energy and you can get feedback from the instructor that can help improve your practice.  If you do try bikram, they’re not kidding about the water!  I think I used to go through a 1.5 liter bottle!!

I LOVE yoga soo much. We have a Anusara yoga studio in my town and I absolutely love it. I haven’t tried any yoga dvds but I love going to yoga class because there is something very spiritual about having a great yogi and being in a class with other people.

I’ve been wanting to try bikram but haven’t been able to find anywhere around me to try it.

I’ve never been a fan, really. I’m way to uncoordinated, unbalanced and have zero flexibility. I know that you gain those things by doing yoga, but trying to start yoga while you still lack them is pretty challenging and not relaxing at all! I did some yoga on Wii Fit last night and have to admit, I felt more relaxed. I liked that it had stuff I could follow to make sure I was breathing correctly and a balance test to see if I was balancing myself properly. I’ll give it another go!

Maybe I need to try a different one. I try it on Wii Fit Plus and do good until the downward dog…I may have too much in the back because the lady keeps saying “You’ve got too much pressure on your feet.”LOL

Speaking of Yoga – I enjoy Pilates even more. I am headed to a class this afternoon! I like the small independent studios but they are expensive. I typically go to the classes at my gym. The best I have found are at Lifetime Fitness.
