I think if the song is about Jesus, and you are saying it is about you two, it would leave people confused.

You could still have it in the wedding, but I wouldn’t try to adjust the meaning.

Hmm this is a tough one. I think that when I hear this song I think worship.. I think maybe if your guests didnt or dont hear the song in the worship context maybe it would be ok… But I am thinking If it were me I would pass.

There’s another Matthew West Song that may work for what you want! My DH sang to me on our Honeymoon..

Matthew West “The Day Before You”

it wasn’t until later that I put the connection together that it was actually about Jesus… of course my heart overflowed in worship and it was GREAT worshipping to it but I can still understand it as a love song too. And now I love it as both!

I think guests would easily see it as a love song =)

If it’s playing during the seating of the guests, I think its fine. Especially if you are in a church setting. And people won’t be left wondering since the song mentions Jesus. Go for it, if it’s what you really want.

Im going to use Treasure by flyleaf and I was nervose at first for the same reason… but Lacey ( who wrote the song) actually wrote it the night she became engaged, she said she felt like treasure… The only part is at the end and it is my favorite line, it says, ” just look at what he’s done how he laying down his life, take my life, oh most dazzleing precious treasure”

I just really love this song and dont think id want to use another… and I think my wedding day I will feel like treasure…
