I don’t eat red meat, I just don’t like the taste. I eat tofu, rice, soybeans, tons of veggies and hicken. I don’t pretend to be a vegetarian, I just don’t like the taste of red meat.
I also don’t think I’m fat- not skinny- but not fat. I could stand to lose a few
, I guess. I wear a street size 10 in jeans and a dress size 8 at Macy’s.
A coworker commented on my lunch right now (tofu hot dogs, salad and hazelnuts) and said “you are too fat to be a vegetarian”
I asked her quickly: “Is that your way of saying I’m fat?”
She replied ” for a vegetarian, yeah
What does that even MEAN!? I hate people.

I would ask her if she wants to feel how hard I could punch.

This is the second post I have seen this week on people being just HATEFUL.
WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS WORLD?! Ugh. I’m curious, what did you say back to her?
Whaaat?! I can’t believe how tactless some people are.

WTF? “Vegetarian” doesn’t mean “health freak”. My ex-FSIL (she and BIL got divorced not long after Darling Husband and I got engaged) is vegetarian, but she HATES vegetables. In other words, she survives almost entirely on cheese pizza. Because THAT is a healthy diet.
I have known vegetarians who are rail-thin and vegetarians who are morbidly obese.
Your coworker is crazy.

Moments like this really call for a slap.

I would have said, how strange, for a human you’re just ugly!

Wow! What a peach she is!
Personally, I do not find vegetarian eating styles to be indiicative of health nor low wieght..

@Eva Peron: Gee thanks, now I want a peach.

It means that she is judgmental with no personal skills.
Seriously, what a terrible thing to say.

@Hbomb84: “This is the second post I have seen this week on people being just HATEFUL.“
I was JUST thinking this! Are there really that many asshats in the world???

I really dislike how hateful posters get in response to threads about “hateful people”.
No need to call the woman a bitch or any other name or talk about physical violence.
What she said was hurtful but it sounds like she didn’t realise it. It also sounds like she is fairly unimformed about a vegetarian/vegan lifestyle.
Personally I would have told her how hurtful her remarks were and maybe ask about what she knows of vegetarian diets and healthy eating in general.

@DeadlyNightshade: Yes, yes there are. Some people need filters!
