Okay, my cat is my heart’s happiness. He is completely wonderful and I am full of love for him. So imagine my heartbreak when I came to work today, and standing in the workroom I looked out the window and saw my cat’s doppelganger, deceased (likely from the snowstorm we’re still recovering from). I would have been totally sad no matter what kind of animal it was, but it always makes me extra sad when they look like my baby. I’m pretty distraught and it’s basically totally ruined my day, and everyone at work thinks I’m completely insane. 🙁 I just wish there was somewhere warm for them all to go when the weather is this miserable, poor little things.

I understand how you feel 🙁 My heart always breaks when I see stray cats, especially if they look like one of my own.
There are stray cats at my work (I work @ my family’s business) and we have started feeding them. One of them really likes my dad now and will come up to be petted, and he even lets my dad brush him 🙂 My dad made him a little bed in front of our building, and he sits in it every day and waits for my dad to arrive so he can get fed. It’s really cute. My dad named him Jim Beam, though!

I feel the same way. I cry when I see animals dead or suffereing. I wish that I could take them all in and feed and house them.

I know what you mean. I hate seeing stray animals outside, especially when the weather is bad. It’s so upsetting to me. My cat was feral and we took her in after she was living outside for a year, but I always wish I could bring in every cat I find 😛

Oh… oh, that’s actually quite upsetting. I always try to call a cat rescue when I see strays because I know some of the neighbourhood dogs get a little over playful and some people in my area purposely send their dogs to catch and harm cats when they walk them and I think it’s disgusting.

Awww 🙁 that is sad. I’d be sad too!
@ Nexus – very cute! I’d just call him JB for short.

Oh gosh 🙁 I would feel the SAME way girl!! I’m such a crybaby when it comes to animals. I have to look away or change the channel everytime an ASPCA commercial comes on! One time it just made me so sad I finally called & now I donate monthly. They’re so helpless & I hate it 🙁

That IS really sad! Worse, I think, than when you see a pet on petfinder.com that looks like yours. My cats are indoor kitties partly for this reason. Our neighbors let their cat out, and a few days later found it along the side of the road – NOT a happy outcome.

My cats are like my children and I love them so much it hurts. My Fiance always jokes that when I’m away, I miss them more than I miss him (which may actually be true btw). I cry when I think about bad things happening to them and I certainly would lose it if I saw a cat that looked like mine that was dead.
A few months ago my neighbor’s cat was hit by a car. I came home right after it happened and he managed to make it into the yard before he died. I was bawling the whole time – it was horrible 🙁
