This thread is amazing!!! +1 to almost everything!!

our 8th Christmas together just passed and a card arrived from my parents “daughter and her boyfriend” and even though it was sweet all I could think was FML

then having to deal with the not so subtle finger inspections in work after the holidays! After already dealing as gracefully as possible with the million holiday announcements!!

And my biggest one at the moment – when you’re spending a liiiitle more time on the bee in work than is healthy and wondering how in the hell are you supposed to focus on anything normal when you know it’s coming in the next few months. How?? I’m actually asking!! Hehe

God, I hit all of these while waiting, except the ugly crying, that I do alone in the bedroom at night before he comes home.

– When it is NYE and the news shows happy couples getting engaged during christmas or last years NYE and you have to leave he room angry/pouty so your MIL-ish doesn’t notice. But you still make sure your SO notices.

– When you hate holidays because your tired of not moving forward.

– When you piece things together and are hoping it will be that month and then nothing.

– When you get a gift and are hoping it is The Ring, and it turns out to be a nice piece of Tiffany’s and you don’t want it.

– When you binge watch wedding proposals.

– When you stop getting real mani’s before holidays/ birthday/ vacations and start just doing them yourself or using press-on nails lol

– When you don’t want to bitch to your friends because they are tired of hearing about it.

winebarbiekiss :  Fingers Crossed for you! I HATE surprised and I HATE the unknown, but my SO is the KING of surprises and it drives me nuts. He learned a very long time ago to not give me clues because I wil guess correctly and it used to make him so sad haha, I still ask for clues becase I can’t help it, but he gives me the most random off the wall, no meaning clues.

This year for my bday the clues are “impregnaiting goats” “feeding goats” “wear jeans” “don’t be scared goats smell fear” and “it is gunna be cold” lol

When your walking thru the mall with your bf and he literally cranes his neck when you walk by a jewelry store, every single time you pass by them in the mall. It always happens.

or even makes a comment once in a while, even if it has nothing to do with being engaged soon, he says something after CRANING his neck lookin at the jewelry store!

…yet if you try to open the lines of communication about engagement in your own home, he gets annoyed and mad.

….so WHY are you craning your neck if you aren’t interested in getting married anytime soon…!???

Big fat idk!!!!!

When even he feels awkward introducing me to people as his girlfriend.

When he is saying we should think about getting engaged soon. *eye roll* one of us has been waiting.

When you realize he’s had the ring for 2 years!

When you can’t stand to see the wedding commercials on TV.

When every vacation, day trip, anniversary and holiday feels like this is it and you have to make sure you do your nails and makeup and have the perfect outfit on… but it never is it lol. This has got to be the most annoying part and even when I tell myself not to get my hopes up I still think it’s possible. -.-

Love this thread!  Makes me feel like I’m not going insane haha

– when every meal/holiday/day out/trip to the shops has you wandering if he will propose

– you start trying to trick yourself into thinking you really dont care about getting married

– you become obsessed with other peoples engagement/wedding rings

– when a wedding related advert comes on TV you look for a response (and it’s usually a blank stare)

– when he doesnt answer his phone straight away and assume he MUST be in a ring shop

– it seems like EVERYONE is married or engaged apart from you

– you seriously consider asking HIM because you can’t wait anymore!

When you’ve had to rethink the guest list/wedding party because beloved family members have passed away! 😢

When original honeymoon ideas, to include both of our children from prior marriages, have shifted from Disneyworld-esque trips to “teen friendly” cruises…and adults-only-no-kids is almost an option.
