@arbuzunia:  I can’t wait to enjoy special days again! Our 2 year anniversary is on August 12th and instead of looking forward to it I am mentally preparing myself for another disappointment…thanks for reminding us that there is light at the end of the tunnel Laughing

@CaroBee:  Going for a helicopter ride!!! I love it! Our code word is “Getting a Bottle of Champaine.” We never drink that stuff and we were watching an episode of How I Met Your Mother (seriously, don’t we all wish we could be Lilly and Marshell) and when Marshall poped the question to Lilly he was trying to open the bottle. Anyway, My SO takes my hand and says “We may need to buy a bottle of Champaine soon”.

I Really hope it happens at New Years…..

I know this one applied to me when I wasn’t engaged yet..

– Every time you would go onto Facebook and see a friend has changed his/her status to “engaged”, you die a little bit more each time

And worse.. when newly-engaged women would advertise every single step of their wedding planning process as her status on FB.. “Yayyy.. final dress fitting today!!!!”… “Yay.. we set the date!”… “Yayyy!  Cake tasting today!”  Oh, bite me.

Completely agree about the “special day” thing.  For the past year, I have thought that- maybe this is it- for just about every special day.  When it doesn’t happen, I regretably admit that yes, I die a little inside each time.

Now that it’s August, we don’t have any special days until Halloween.  So that leaves me, what? 6 months to plan a summer wedding? I for hell sure am not waiting til summer 2014.

I hate when people change their Facebook status to “engaged”! I always have to check how long it is since they posted “X is in a relationship with Y”, and then I get annoyed if it’s less time than I’ve been dating my SO.

Last week it was my significant ex who changed his status to “engaged”. The only man who I ever thought I might actually marry is marrying someone else… who he’s been with for six months less than I’ve been with my SO! I had a bit of a cry over that one… I’m not in love with him any more and I wish him well, but it seems so unfair that he’s found someone and I haven’t 🙁

The other one that really hit me hard was when my younger cousin changed his status to “engaged” – he was the biggest player, love-em-and-leave-em kinda guy, and I thought he’d end up being the eternal bachelor who just breaks women’s hearts. Nope – he got engaged and the wedding was a few months ago. So even a player like him has managed to marry and find happiness, and still nobody wants to even get engaged to me 🙁

When you have to go back and delete all of your favorite engagement rings and wedding dresses from your secret folder because they aren’t even remotely in style anymore..

Also, for any other LDR waiting bees…

When you always cry on the last day of your visit and he thinks you’re upset because you have to say goodbye, which is partly true… but there’s a biiiig part of you that is crying because you got your hopes up that it was happening on this trip and it didn’t.

I’m not waiting any longer… I’m just 22 days from the wedding now… yay! But I didn’t get a proposal until our 7 year and 4 month anniversary.

My fiancé would like to play games… He left me a note on the couch once saying “I have a surprise for you… meet me upstairs” I was so excited! I ran up the stairs only to find him showing off his new glasses!

There were so many times he would kneel down to tie his shoe and my heart would skip… that was hard.
