Me and my FH have been discussing what we want to say in our vows. I want the Officiant to say You may now kiss your bride, but he thinks that he should say you may now kiss the bride.
Which one do you like better??

@sharmon13: “the” because thats what I think of first.

I had our officiant say “your bride.” “The bride” just sounds too vague to me. But I’m weird like that

I vote “your”, but both are fine. Don’t be surprised if the officiant says the opposite of what you plan though – he/she may end up saying what they’re used to. 🙂

My fiance just walked in the room and said… Well you ARE my bride and noone elses so YOUR works 🙂

So I was about to type “the” because I don’t belong to anyone but I opened our ceremony doc and apparently we did “your”

For some reason I REALLY care about this. For me, it must be “the bride.” However, everyone’s tastes are different. 🙂

Does it matter? I don’t remember how our pastor said it…

I wouldn’t get to set on this. If the officiant says it incorrectly (more than likely will say what they normally say) you don’t want to be heart broken.

I like, “You may now kiss” best, but between the two, I like “the”.

I think both work and I wouldn’t be mad if it was said either way! I just think your sounds better!

Its not a big deal…and you ant ask your officiant to try and remember something so small….you wont even rememeber it…i promise <3

I’d go with the. I don’t know, I don’t even remember what our officiant said.
