We’re at 100$ a plate with no appetizers or cheese and crackers or anything- ceasar salad, a chicken dish with 2 sides, and 4 hours open bar. So yours sounds similar to my pricing (it would have been about the same had I chosen to add on those things you mentioned).. wedding venues/caterers are criminals with the amount they charge

I actually think that is wonderfully reasonable!

I’m paying 100 for buffet and exactly 3 drinks. That is not a bad deal at all.

Don’t forget to add taxes and service charges to that!  Mine is $150 out the door.  That is 4 hour bar, 4 appetizers during cocktail hour and 3 courses.  No cake.  Champagne toast during dinner.  Wheel and deal with them.  They are used to it!  We want wine service during dinner vs. the champagne which no one drinks.  Free valet for the wedding party, extra night stay at the hotel, extra appetizers, etc, etc.  And isn’t August 11th a Thursday?!  The price should be way lower for that!

Holy Hell. I am paying 65 dollars a plate full bar for 4 hours. Gratuity included. And it is a nice casino. But I did get a special deal.

That’s with the 10% off?!  Is it a Trump hotel?  haha.  The weddings there start at $200 per person.  Ouch.

Mine will be around 50$ a plate with appetizers, salad, rolls, double entrees, custom cupcakes, and pop/water/tea/coffee. That’s right outside Chicago, and we got a ridiculously amazing deal. We aren’t serving alcohol though, so I imagine it would be quite a bit higher with that. The appetizers are butler passed and the caterer is going to handwash and RECRATE all of my china. Gratuity included.

My daughter lives in Florida and recently got married in Miami. We could NOT find a venue with prices under $125 a person, not including the service charge of 20% and 7% tax. It was extremely frustrating and had my daughter in tears most days. A coworker suggested a venue where we had to hire our own caterer. It was just what she was looking for. It made things much more affordable for us and the food was incredible!
