He wont let me drag him to a movie eg. Twilight. hehe  But he will “drag” me to movies.  But i dont mind.  I LOVE watching movies.  Even bad movies I will watch.  We watch plenty of movies that are really good that are not chick flicks so I just watch chick flicks by myself.  Maybe I will show him one someday.

We watched Just Wright (with Queen Latifah) the other night and he loved it.  We rented Dear John and I zonked out and slept through it while he actually enjoyed it.  And…my all time favorite chick flick that he LOVED was the Ugly Truth.  Oh man.  We both laughed during the whole movie.  He tends to be a pretty good sport about watching chick flicks with me…mostly because I prefer action/drama movies so he’s not tortured by too many requests to watch chick flicks.  Now me on the other hand, refuse to watch anything sci-fi/animated/etc.  Yuck…kill me now!

My hubby whined about having to watch “Pride and Prejudice” (the Keira Knightley one, not the 6 hour miniseries–I’m not that cruel) and ended up liking it more than me. I think he might have even gotten choked up at the end. It was freaking hilarious.

He watches a lot of chick flicks b/c I really enjoy watching them.  One weeked we watched Father of the Bride I and II, Princess Diaries, The Notebook, and While You were Sleeping (he LOVES Sandra Bullock movies).

I had to force PenguinGuy to watch Twilight, he willingly watched New Moon and then HE suggested we go see Eclipse while it was sitll in theatres! Yes, there are movies that he deems himself ‘too manly’ to watch, but that just means we compromise when we see a movie together and then I watch the movies he won’t while he is on duty/underway/deployed.

I had dragged him to go see The Time Traveler’s Wife in the theaters when it first came out (since it is based on one of my favorite books.) and when it was on HBO last week, he turns to me and goes, “This was a pretty good movie, actually.” And I agreed, of course. And then he turned away and I had to bite my lip to keep from laughing. It’s kind of adorable, but from time to time, he seems to enjoy some chick flicks. Of course, I would never spill the beans to his manly man friends though!

He actually makes me watch them sometimes – not out in the theaters, but sometimes on HBO.  I prefer drama and suspense, but he LOVES dumb comedies and will watch “chick flicks” that he thinks fall into that category.  We definitely watched Ghosts of Girlfriends Past because he put it on.  There’s been others, too.

“Slumdog Millionaire”, “The Kids are Alright”, “Mean Girls” and “Muriel’s Wedding”.

From time to time he’ll even quote “Mean Girls”. Like “Fetch is never going to happen Birdie!”
