We finally got a signed wedding congratulations from the President and Michelle Obama! I am stunned because it was signed in real ink. The paper had a fair amount of bleed… I can’t believe we actually got a response and that I now have genuine autographs from the President and First Lady!

I sent an invitation to the protocol office of the White House at “The White House, 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20500”. We sent our invitations at the end of April, and I just received the letter today. They must have a big backlog.
I’ve done some research since I initially posted, and the signatures may be made by a very sophisticated autopen, though it has regular paper bleed as if it was signed by hand.
The insignia is letterpressed and the envelope was hand addressed by someone with gorgeous handwriting. I’ll post pictures later, but right now Mr. DG and I are going to make a priority ice cream run!

Oooh, If bf and I get married before he is out of office, I will have to do this.
Then I will have to frame it and give it to my mother… she would love it.
