I’m 23 and make about 19k and Fiance is 25 (26 on Tuesday) he makes 40k right now. The only help we’re getting for the wedding will go to the honeymoon (London and pariS). His dad is gifting us the trip. Our budget is 10k spaced out between now and our wedding in jan. 2015. 🙂

I’m 25, fiance is 22 – Together we make around 60,000 a year. We are spending about 22,000 on the wedding including honeymoon. [We live in a VERY small country town, so our salaries are actually decent].

I think any amounts that you spend on your wedding is fine as long as you are comfortable with it & can spare the money to do so.

I’m not going to lie, I was kind of blown away by all of the salaries on here…whew! Good for you ladies!  I’m 24 (almost 25) and my FH is 36 (almost 37)…now THAT is an age gap! Lol. It really isn’t as bad as anyone would think, and our age difference barely ever comes up. We have been together for 2.5 years. Anyway, I work fulltime as a retail manager making about 22K and he is a car salesman making about 30K (he moved to a new dealership last month so he is still getting his bearings on commission and salary so we won’t really know for sure yet til the end of this year, it could be a little more). Neither of us finished college but we make just enough to pay the bills and have a little left over. We are honestly having a tiny wedding and have decided not to spend more than a grand but preferably more like $600-800. We are holding the ceremony and reception at a friend’s house and will pay for catering and hook up an iTunes playlist for music, FH’s co-worker is an officiant and has already agreed to marry us, I have hairstylist and makeup artist friends as well as a friend who is a professional photographer so we will have a quality wedding for not much money. It will be very untraditional and dressy casual. I plan on getting a majorly discounted dress and my bridesmaids are very crafty and will help with the DIY and one of them just got married last weekend and is giving me some of her gorgeous decor to use.We are paying for it ourselves because my parents can’t afford it and we are very low maintenance so our goal is to have a classy, but fun and mellow wedding with the people closest to us, maximum 30-50 people. It has become my mission to make my wedding beautiful without having us scrounging for food or going into debt! Good luck to all of you ladies no matter your budget and happy planning!

Im 22 and on 46k. FH is 24 and on 52.5k. Our budget is 20k and we are paying for about 12k of it. He is an accountant so we have a monthly savings budget and we currently are saving about 500 extra a month more just in case we need to go over!

Edit: This does not include honeymoon.

I just tuned 29.  Boo!  Combined we make about $65k. I would like to know where some of you live so I can move there and make that 100+k with you!  Because where I live they don’t pay enough, lol.  Anyways, I just finished my masters degree in 2012 so of course my student loans are more than I make.  Plus I plan on going for my PhD within the next couple of years.  So our budget is very small.  I was at $8k but I started to cut things out and currently have it at $6k…not including rings and honeymoon.  However, I just found out last night that my parents will pay for catering which was included in my budget. Looks like I have it down to maybe $3500 +rings and honeymoon.  I will see what else we can do without to get it even lower.  Oh and we originally had about 175 guests but I have been slowly trimming down the list.  If I haven’t seen you in x amount of years you are not coming.  I know I sound cheap compared to other people. 🙂

I earn £20k ($30,700) and Mr CL earns £26k ($40,000).  Our budget is £15k ($23k) so about 1/3 of our combined salary – we’re both 24.  However, we have been saving since we got engaged  years ago, and some of the money we’re putting towards the wedding is leftover from our gap year trip which was less expensive than we had planned for.

The important thing as far as I’m concerned is to ensure that you don’t spend more money than you have.  As long as you’re comfortable with your budget, you’re able to pay your bills and you don’t go into debt for the sake of the wedding, then it’s the right budget for you.

I wish I was able to keep our budget as low as many of you ladies. But I wasn’t able to find any good photographer in my city under 3K…and nice videographers under 4K..Received food/drinks estimate today and it was over 30K (Four Seasons prices)..I didn’t even start with a band, dj, and decorations..And we will have only 80 people at our wedding…thank God parents will pay for it LOL..

p.s. we are 27 and 28 years old..I am a full time student..and don’t work…Fiance managing his family business and doesn’t have a set salary..

My Fiance is 20 years old and makes about $22k without factoring in overtime. I’m also 20 and make about $4k – I have had a hard time finding a better job. We are both full time students.

My parents are paying for the bulk of the wedding and are budgeting about $6k. My Fiance and I are contributing $2k towards the rings, his tux, the marriage license, PreCana, and the honeymoon. So the overall total should be around $8k, which is very low for New Jersey but so far has been fine. We are having about 100 guests.

I’m almost 24 making 65k, Fiance is 26 making 75k… spending approx 40k on wedding not including rings… Yes I do think we’re being slightly extravagant but in our culture it’s the norm (if not requirement) to have a big wedding…  We’re not planning on a honeymoon vacation.

I start a new job in Feb at $57k, SO (will be Fiance in a month or two) is currently on that and will have a decent pay rise next year. We’ve decided no more than 2 months combined salary as a budget, aiming to be under 🙂 my dad wants to contribute which is nice, can put a little more towards a house

Our budget is around 18% of our annual income but I’d like to spend less.

You guys are all so rich, me and my fiance are 23 and 22, we’re both students although I took the last year off before I get another degree next year and I saved around 10k for the wedding
