I’m 20 (21 in April) and my Fiance is 23 (24 in August). We have been dating since our freshman year of high school. He went into the Marines at the beginning of my junior year and I graduated high school and I’m now almost done with BA in Animation and he just finished his active duty in the Marines and is now attending cullinary school.

Wow, there are some AMAZING rings on this thread! So lovely, bees!

My husband proposed to me when I was 22 and he was 23. We were married at 24 and 25 this past summer. Mine is a .50 carat D VVS2 ideal princess cut solitaire and I still stare at it and love it so much. I won’t ever upgrade only because I seriously love this ring, it’s the perfect cut, clarity and size. I’m a teacher so I didnt want anything that was too large or bulky to bother me when I’m playing with playdoh and painting. I wanted something I could wear everyday. He picked it out all on his own, too!

And my band is .50 carat as well!

I’m 20 and he is 25 mine is a 1.25c moissy. I’m not sure what the side stones add up to. I can’t imagine it’s more than .25c.

I am 22 and my husband is 25. I was 21 when we got engaged, and my husband was 23. My mother in law gave me the center stone from her mother’s ring and the stones in the halo came from a necklace that also belonged to her mother. She gave me 8 and she has 8 for each of her children, as well. We added 2 to make the halo. Then I took a ring that my mom gave me awhile ago that she got from my aunt that I didn’t like and never wore and put those in the shank. We added some diamonds too to complete the shank. In my culture the parents of the groom are always supposed to pay for the ring.

The center stone is 1 ct., the halo stones are .10 each.

When I was 21, my (now ex) gave me a .32 carat solitaire in 18k white gold. It was Excellent cut, VS1, G color. All the C’s were pretty good except the size was smaller than I wanted.

I got mine from an awesome seller on Etsy! It’s vintage and exactly what I have always wanted. I am 23, and Fiance is a few days shy of 26.

I am 20, fiancé is 23. We both work full time at a warehouse. He is in the army reserves after serving actively for close to 6 years. He was going to school for a while, but the army kept forgetting to pay him (shit you not) anywho. I think it’s a beaut, and we sorta picked it out together online. I would like to upgrade someday, to a 1 ct or more, I’m at .73 now, and for some reason the 1 ct seems like a good comfortable number, and just a hair more finger coverage. Maybe for a big anniversary πŸ™‚

I’m 22 and Fiance is 24. Our engagement was a spontaneous surprise at the most perfect moment on holiday so we didn’t have any plans for a ring or anything but my Auntie left me her sapphire and diamond RHR when she passed 10 years ago.

So for now, her ring is gracing my finger.

It was never meant to be my engagement ring but I am sure she would be happy to see the purpose and meaning it has for us.

Eventually we will get a ring for myself, also a sapphire and they will sit side by side one on each hand πŸ™‚

Here is the ring he proposed with – 1 carat princess with .35 of surrounding pave set diamonds. We were both 23. I was in my second year of law school (no income) and he was working full-time in his career. I “upgraded” last year (May 2012) because I thought I lost my original set, so we decided to go a bit bigger on the center diamond — 1 carat to 1.6 carat.

I am 19, will be 20 on our wedding day. My Fiance is 27, so not exactly early twenties, but we are in very similar financial situations being that he went back to school and we both workpart time. My ring is a white sapphire, and I love her! We plan on upgrading in a few years once we can afford it. This picture is with the diamond wedding band we plan on purchasing.

@kay_thunderbird:  Fiance and I are both 21 and Senior undergrads. We will turn 22 in a month. He was able to afford it because of internships. My ring is 1.62 D VS2 Oval. πŸ™‚ I know this picture makes that black in the center look like an inclusion but its not. There are no inclusions in the center of the ring. I think it was just the camera, or lighting or something. Sorry the picture is so big. But I have only been engaged for 1 day so I am still in super duper excitment mode!!!!

We are 25 and 26. When we got engaged we were 23 and 24. Fiance has a good job and is responsible with money so he was able to pay for the ring outright. About 3k with taxes and warranty.

.5 ct center. 2ct total with wedding bands.

@jdhall89:  WOW, that is so rude and presumptuous of them!! Some people should be sent back to school to learn a few manners and etiquette!
