@MrsSnowMountain:  my SO just bought a ring. I don’t know the exact cost but I think it was a decent amount. He did an engineering co-op that paid very well for two semesters and I think that is one way some students make money. He is also very lucky that his family is very generous to him. I know he has some investments from family that were started for him, savings from his parents…we really feel blessed already. I did insist that whatever money he used for the ring came directly from money he earned working though.

I’m 22, I was 21 at the time of our engagement. Center stone is .5 carat, TCW is .90. I love it, perfect for us and upgrades can always come later ;]

Not sure if we quite apply to this post not super early 20’s (I’m 26 and he’s 30) but we are both in college a late start but better late than never. I think the center stone is half a carat…I’m not entirely sure

I’m 24 now (and married), but was 23 when I got engaged.  My fiance (at the time) used money from his IRA to buy me a handcrafted antique ring with a natural ruby center.

Well, Darling Husband and I are married now, but I got engaged to him when I was 18 (almost 19.) I am still 19, but will turn 20 in July. Darling Husband turned 30 last November, so he’s not ‘young’, but I still qualify! πŸ™‚

I got engaged two months before I turned 19. We’re both in university so obv. can’t afford anything huge, but I love my ring πŸ™‚

Here’s mine! It’s a .5 ct Tiffany solitaire! Simple and classic. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect ring.
